Checking on kind of an unusual situation:
Referring back to message 80 in this thread on 2017-Dec-29, I requested confirmation for:
Love From Afar 1x: A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson - page 23
Love From Afar
which you confirmed and added to the spreadsheet.
Turns out the Kindle edition which I am reading has a different title The Secret Countess, but when checking shelves, one still sees the shelves for "A Countess Below Stairs".
So, just making sure the book is still confirmed if I use it for Round 1, under the title "The Secret Countess"
(same book, just different title)
Thanks!
That's fine, Sue. I know sometimes books are published under different titles (sometimes in different countries but also for re-release etc) but as long as they're shown under 'all editions', the same shelves will show. You're good to go with that one :)

yes, it counts. Report completion of any rounds at any time, Judy :)
How exciting!

Please confirm: Dark Matter was shelved on Fabulist by 1 person. (I couldn't stand the book I'd decided to read for that shelf, and had to hunt up another one.)

Tien, I just wanted to check about the page numbers for a book I'm planning to read. I chose it from Sassafrass's shelf, which gave me The Water Thief, listed as 248 pages. What I have is a digital edition, The Water Thief, listed as only 209 pages. Am I correct that I get to claim the number of pages from the paperback copy, even if I read the digital? My library doesn't carry it.

I believe the ruling said claim pages for whatever edition you're reading so that includes digital page counts. The only time you'd need to use the MPE page count is when digital ed doesn't have page count or audiobook.

I couldn't remember. Bummer. I have a book I'd like to substitute in another part of my list that is 1 (ONE!) page short. If my library carried the other edition, I'd borrow it, and that would make the other fit. Oh, well.

So, I'm listening to the audio of Moby Dick, which doesn't have a page count in the GR record. The page counts in the paper editions vary widely, by several hundreds. Is this the one I should use: Moby-Dick or, The Whale?

In these cases, we usually say use the most popular version, that is the version with the most ratings usually. When you search on the book in GR, it is the book that comes up first at the top of the list.
