The theme of this book is to not judge other people by your first impression of them. It doesn't matter how they look, or what there is on the outside, its who they are that matters. Every person should get a chance at first. There might be more to them on the inside than you thought. I personally agree with what the book is trying to convey.

I agree that the theme is to not judge people by their appearance, yet I also believe the theme goes a lot deeper. I believe the theme has a lot to do with self love and acceptance, bullying, and friendship. Overall I think there are many things to be taken away from this book. I believe that this book conveys that the most important opinion of yourself is... your own. I believe Auggie finally comes to recognition with this towards the end of the book.
