Sharon | 788 comments Finished a book this morning - Father's Day
I give it 4 stars. It's a really good book about the love between a daughter and a father and how they helped each other grow up. My only complaint is that it ended too abruptly. But a great book!

That just happened to me with The Diviners series!! It'll be forever before it comes out too! I know George RR Martin is kinda famous for the lengthy waits between the books D;

message 10: by Keri (new)

Keri Phillips | 167 comments And that is exactly why i am hesitant to start them! The first 4 books are on my shelf just looking at me...

Keri Phillips | 167 comments I finished 3 more. City of Ashes Waking Gods The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding

Waking Gods is #2 in a scifi series. Not my normal genre, but i really like this one! Definitely have to read book 1 first. Both books are written in a series of interviews or files. Dreadful tale of prosper redding is a middle grade fantasy book. So freaking cute! I loved this one. It was a quick and easy read and im definitely passing it off to my son. With the way it ended, i really need the next book to come out!

Emily Kallio | 2 comments Last night finished One Second After by William R. Forstchen. Not really sure if I would recommend it. Or maybe thats just me. Maybe I'm too impressionable or smth but I'm pretty sure I will have nightmares for a very long time now.

Books affect me that way. I cry easily and if it's scary or twisted, I have a hard time for a while after. It's definitely not just you!

Also finished Murder on the Orient Express today! I listened to the BBC Production audiobook which was really entertaining. It's about 3-3 1/2 hours long. Definitely recommend this particular audiobook to you all!

message 21: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (sweettreads) | 87 comments Finished The Safest Lies by Megan Miranda 5 out of 5 stars.

I really liked this book! Was a good mystery unlike anything I've read before and I read a lot of mystery/thriller books. The writing was good and the story line was engaging and kept you guessing the whole time.

I also read Bear and the Nightingale. Beautifully written and amazing start to a new fantasy series. 4 stars.

Lastly, finished The Lying Game by Ruth Ware. REALLY enjoyed it. So many twist plots and very dark and twisty. 4 stars

Michelle Garrette (bendystitchy) | 34 comments I just finished listening to Cinder on audiobook. So very good!! Not as good as the Throne of Glass serires, but good enough that I'm anxiously awaiting my copy of Scarlett!

message 38: by Keri (new)

Keri Phillips | 167 comments I have heard from multiple people, including my teenager, that the rest of the books in the lunar series are better than Cinder. I'm about 40% done, and I really like it :)

I'll be starting Cinder soon! I'm excited about it. I've had it on my shelf forever and never picked it up! I'm also going to buy the rest of the Throne of Glass series soon, because I need to know all the things that happen. XD

YAY!!! to the giveaway! That's awesome. I feel like I enter new giveaways here every day and they are so rare to win! And how great is it that it's your favorite author!!!?

I've had Strange the Dreamer on my wish list forever and have heard AMAZING things about it. I need to just go ahead and buy it :D

Keri Phillips | 167 comments lol at Eden. I just finished Borne by Jeff Vandermeer. gave it 2.5 stars.

This might be one of the weirdest books I ever read. The plot never grabbed me, and I thought the ending was strange and left too many questions. However, the personality yhe author gave to a non human entity was great. Borne made me laugh. It was like he was a child just needing someone to tell him what to do and teach him about life. This is not my usual genre, and I dont really feel compelled to read more from this author

Teresa (sweettreads) | 87 comments Finished by The Chase by DiAnn Mills I'll give it 3/5 stars. It was enough to keep me going to the end, but it was not anything extra exciting. Pretty generic in my opinion
