message 615: by Molly (new)

Molly I just finished Say, Say, Say by Lila Savage. It was really good, very sensitive. The ending at first left me a little disappointed, as I was hoping for a little more for the characters but as I continue to live with them in my head (as you do), I am satisfied that they are all going to be fine. I feel it could even serve as a "book 1" to a series. But, that might be because I really loved the two main characters so much I am imagining their futures.

message 627: by Kelli (new)

Kelli | 5 comments Ceci wrote: "The Alice Network. Could not put it down, LOVED it, need to see it become a mini series or movie!"
I definitely agree! It would be so interesting to see how it's translated to the screen! I immediately imagine Emily Blunt as Eve Gardiner. I feel like she could pull off "bitter-older-woman" very well!

Denise (denisemeagles) | 71 comments I just started reading The Lager Queen of Minnesota by J. Ryan Stradal- the bestselling author of Kitchens of the Great Midwest I will finish this in one sitting- it is that good.

I also am halfway through Chelsea Girls by Fiona Davis. Fiona just came to speak to our Book Club this week at the local library and added more meaning to the book. She shared with us why she wrote the book. She also told stories about the people she interviewed for the book. Fiona Davis is definitely a strong candidate for a RW pick. She has all of the right ingredients- historical fiction, well developed characters and always includes a landmark building.
