Allie (antlersantlers) | 14 comments Hello,

Is there a way to differentiate two authors that both go by a single name? Particularly Jason and Seth. In addition to the Norwegian comics author, there's a man who self-publishes under the name Jason. And in addition to the Canadian comics author and there's a "spirit" named Seth that Jane Roberts "communicates" with. Those are two examples, and I'm curious how you would differentiate without a last name to space out.

Thanks!

Scott | 4179 comments I don't know, but I don't think the "spirit" should be considered an author.

Facedeer | 12 comments This has occasionally come up for me too when dealing with fanfiction authors, who usually publish under a space-free internet pseudonym.

Unfortunately, I have no ideas.

Koenraad (koenraadkelemen) | 6966 comments Unfortunately, there is no way to disambiguate single-name authors. We leave them together on one profile and put notes in the author bio about the authors known to use this name. An example can be found here.

So an author profile will not retain a space before/after an entry?

'Fraid not. I even tested it just to make sure.

It would cause far more problems than it solved.

Facedeer | 12 comments I wonder if perhaps we could adopt a solution like Wikipedia uses and put a parenthetical description of the author after the name to disambiguate. Like "Seth (spirit)" or "Deep (fanfiction author)".
