I'm planning on reading Hideous Kinky A Novel by Esther Freud. It's set in Morocco.

I was going to use it for part of my Geography task but now that I see Hideous Kinky is based in Morocco I might switch it to my Hispanic Heritage Month instead.
Anyone have any other good M suggestions?

Mountains Beyond Mountains The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a Man Who Would Cure the World is set primarily in Haiti

For Haiti, I would recommend The Farming of Bones by Edwidge Danticat. Warning: it was heart-wrenching. It's one of the few books that made me cry.
You might take a look at Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ author Myriam J.A. Chancy. Her novel The Scorpion's Claw wasn't my cup of tea, but you might have a different reaction.
Also, I've had Zora Neale Hurston's Tell My Horse Voodoo and Life in Haiti and Jamaica on my TBR list for a while, though I couldn't fit it into this challenge. That might count for this task (if you're lucky enough to have a J or H name).
