Yes, you're right (and I caused the confusion). However,
***SPOILERS***
There is an exodus of Haitians back to Haiti, and a chunk of the book takes place in Haiti. I tried to determine how much, I think it's about 80 pages or so [Edit: 85 out of 310].
***END SPOILERS***
Anyway, since it involves both Haitians and Haiti it might qualify. It would probably need approval from Cynthia.
Sorry to mislead!

If you want a book set in Denmark, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry is set in Copenhagen. Sooo good.

Someone mentioned Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Hamlet, of course, also takes place in Denmark, if you wanted to read the play.

Is Guernsey a country? I thought it was like a sort of state of the UK. But if so, I will read that.

Fun fact...Guernsey is also a tax haven, so if you ever need to hide money, you could probably get away with it (or any of the other channel islands for that matter--there are a lot of financial trust companies that have set up shop there for that reason). Whereas in the UK, they don't tolerate that sort of financial secrecy.

The first thing that came to my mind was Annie John A Novel by Jamaica Kincaid. It's a short, beautifully written mother/daughter story (with political parallels) set in Antigua. I think most of Kincaid's work is set in Antigua, as that's where she's from.
You might also look at Angola, Argentina, and Australia, though nothing else springs to mind for me.

Havent really found one for my T country yet,

I recommend I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak (author of The Book Thief). It takes place in Australia. It is VERY VERY different than The Book Thief, but it's really awesome in a completely unique way.

AUSTRALIA:
In a Sun-Burned Country by Bryson
One for the Road by Tony Horwitz
AUSTRIA:
The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria Augusta Trapp
The Seven Per-Cent Solution by Nicholas Meyer (holmes mystery)
The Painted Kiss by Elizabeth Hickey also works for art class book

Check out The Swinging Bridge by Ramabai Espinet. It's set in Trinidad (partially, also partially in Canada) and is on my TBR shelf.
Also, V.S. Naipaul is from Trinidad. His A House for Mr. Biswas is set there (and perhaps others, as well). I had to put it down because I found the beginning slow and just wasn't in the mood. It is considered a classic, though, so clearly someone enjoyed it! If you give it a try, let me know what you think.

Kerry Greenwood is one of my favourite authors. She's Australian and all her books are set in and around Melbourne. The Phryne Fisher series are 1920s mysteries with a real dash of flair and the Corinna Chapman books are modern day ones set around a bakery.

"
Thanks for the recommendation Nicki, I haven't read a mystery for awhile. I think I'll go with the first Phryne Fisher book. : )

What a COOL site. I'm going to have to delve into it further soon. Thanks for posting the link.

I have A and V, too, Amy, and V is definitely a challenge for me. Thanks for the great URL -- might help me if I decide I can't handle the more gruesome Vietnam book I'd picked out.

My Initials are S and M any suggestions?

I actually read The Ruins by Scott Smith and enjoyed it more then I thought I would. It's a bit of a horror story and is based in Mexico.

Honduras?
Hurricane : a novel by Trueman, Terry

Some pretty helpful links for this task have been posted in this folder (appropriately titled 'Helpful Links'):

There is a section for links that help you 1) determine the countries that fit your initials and 2) find books set in those countries.
Right off the top of my head I can think of Scotland, Switzerland, Sweden and Swaziland (?) as 'S' countries. I know that there are tons of books set in those countries. I'm not sure what sort of books you're looking for. But the website URLs provided in the Helpful Links folder should really help you narrow down your choices. I know it helped me!!

Check out message 50 for ideas for "s" countries.
Some books from countries that start with "M":
City of Broken Promises-Austin Coates (Macau)
Fire from Heaven-Mary Renault (Macedonia)
Lords and Lemurs Mad Scientists, Kings With Spears, and the Survival of Diversity in Madagascar-Alison Jolly (Madagascar)
City Boy-Jan Michael (Malawi)
The Harmony Silk Factory-Tash Aw (Malaysia)
Evening Is the Whole Day A Novel-Preeta Samarasan (Malaysia)
The Brass Dolphin-Joanna Trollope (Malta)
The Rape of Sita-Lindsey Collen (Mauritius)
The Prospector-Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio (Mauritius)
Like Water for Chocolate A Novel in Monthly Installments with Recipes, Romances, and Home Remedies-Laura Esquivel (Mexico)
The Ruins-Scott Smith (Mexico)
All the Pretty Horses-Cormac McCarthy (Mexico)
Island of the Sequined Love Nun-Christopher Moore (Micronesia)
Once Upon a Time Behind the Fairy Tale of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier-J. Randy Taraborrelli (Monaco)
These are only but a few. Hope this helps!
