Winger
question
What would have happened if Joey didn't die?

Warning: this contains a lot of spoilers
In Winger Joey dies. While reading Winger, I suspected that Joey may like Ryan Dean but it was far from confirmed. Then, in the book Stand-Off, it is confirmed that Joey was attracted to Ryan Dean. What would have happened if Joey wasn't killed in Winger? Would he have summoned up the courage to tell Ryan Dean how he felt or would he have have stayed quiet? And if he did tell Ryan Dean how he really felt, how would Ryan Dean have reacted? We know that Ryan Dean felt attraction to Annie both in the book Winger and Stand-Off, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that he could be bisexual.
