Yeah, I got one from Cheryl Jenner, I checked they weren't active on ŷ - they even said they don't log into ŷ often. I Googled their 'JaniceReviews' handle to see if they had a blog or site, but came up with nothing - only other people concerned it was a scam. So I flagged the email.

A dirty secret: you can only be a writer if you can afford it

message 115: by G.R. (new)

G.R. Paskoff (grpaskoff) | 82 comments Regarding Grasshopper's ebook revolution post. Regardless of what market share ebooks hold, as a self-published author I love ebooks because it enables me to 'gift' copies of my work without costing me any money the way a print copy would.

Regarding Beatrice's post on being a writer only if you can afford it. Well, there are some wise words in that article. It's why I only write in my spare time and doubt I'll ever be able to give up my day job until I'm ready to retire.

All good choices GR👍
But one can become a full time author by choice! Live as poor as a church mouse, Kafka or Poe!

message 117: by G.R. (new)

G.R. Paskoff (grpaskoff) | 82 comments Even a church mouse has other mouths to feed. I'm just not brave enough to make that leap. Not yet anyway.

Must report, that Amazon has released my book; albeit with minor changes to the title and all references to Corona. The new book is now called Baby in Lockdown
