Blagica | 12848 comments COLOR CHALLENGE
Duration: January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019

This challenge requires you find books that have certain colors in their covers or in the title. Let the challenge leader know how many you would like to do and post your number below!

TIP: This is a fun challenge to use the "add book/author" option (located just above the comment box) and selecting "cover."

1. Read a book with "White" or any shade of white in the cover (ivory, cream, bone, etc...).
2. Read a book with "Pink" or any shade of pink in the cover (rose, magenta, salmon, etc...).
3. Read a book with "Red" or any shade of red in the cover (maroon, brick, scarlet, etc...).
4. Read a book with "Orange" or any shade of orange in the cover (apricot, ginger, carrot, etc...).
5. Read a book with "Yellow" or any shade of yellow in the cover (blond, chartreuse, canary, etc...).
6. Read a book with "Green" or any shade of green in the cover (sage, lime, jade, etc...).
7. Read a book with "Light Blue" or any shade of light blue in the cover (teal, sky, cerulean, etc...).
8. Read a book with "Dark Blue" or any shade of dark blue in the cover (indigo, denim, navy, etc...).
9. Read a book with "Purple" or any shade of purple in the cover (lavender, plum, orchid, etc...).
10. Read a book with "Brown" or any shade of brown in the cover (tan, mahogany, coffee, etc...).
11. Read a book with "Black" or any shade of black in the cover (grey, slate, coal, etc...).
12. Read a book with a Metallic color in the cover (gold, silver, bronze, etc...).

13. Read a book with at least 5 colors on the cover.

14. Read a book with a geometric pattern on the cover (rainbows, stripes, polka dots, floral pattern, mosiac, etc...).
15. Read a book with an ugly (to you) cover.

16. Read a book with two or more color words in the title (yellow gold, black & white, etc...)
17. Read a book with the word “Color in the title.
18. Read a book with a word describing color in the title (rainbow, stripes, polka dots, shiny, mosiac, etc...)

*Finished the challenge already? Double your fun and redo tasks 1 through 12, but instead of the cover, find the colors in the title!

**Finished again? A triple challenge would be to find books with all of these colors in their covers AND in their titles.

Happy Reading!

Blagica | 12848 comments How to Participate

1. Post here telling the Challenge Leader that you'd like to join the challenge. You can choose your books for the challenge at the beginning, or add them as you go. You can join a challenge at any time, as long as the challenge is still active. You must choose a goal for the challenge.

2. Whenever you finish a book for the challenge, post here and let the challenge leader know so they can update your progress.
---Please be sure to post the number of books (pages for the Let’s Turn Pages Challenge), you have completed every time you post an update. The Challenge Leader is not able to keep track for you because of the number of participants in the challenge.

3. Some members choose to update their original post with their progress to keep track of their challenge more easily, but make sure to also post a new message so the Challenge Leader knows to go look at your original post. You can look at how other members report their progress to find a strategy that works well for you.

Example:
message 32 updated! 2/25 books read!

For more information about how challenges work, check out this thread check out this link or ask your challenge leader.

PS. Please do not delete posts! It makes updating very confusing for the Moderators! If you decide to leave the challenge, please just let us know. You can edit your original post to say {redacted}. Thank you!

Taran, I'm also new to this challenge but this is how I chose my books. First, you'll need to set a challenge goal first.
Then:
*Figure out what you want to read in 2019, put them in a ŷ bookshelf and look at the covers of their covers.
Or you can just look at your Want-to-Read shelf.

*Look at listopias on ŷ. I decided not to read the purple-covered The Gilded Years in 2019. So I did a Listopia search for "Purple Cover" and found two listopias on books with purple covers. I found a book I'm reading for other challenges.

*As our moderator Blagica mentioned, checking a book's alternate editions can sometimes give you a color you need.
Read Blagic's "TIP" in this thread's first post.

*If you're still stuck for a color, check out the book lists of this challenge's participants. Maybe you'll be interested to read one of the books they've chosen.

Good luck!
