Which Dewey Decimal Number Are You?

You’re steadfast, thorough, and dependable. Some might say “predictable, but we prefer “awesome. Have you considered a career in libraries?
Books in your category range from The New Robert's Rules of Order by Laurie Rozakis to Merriam-Webster's Rules of Order by Laurie Rozakis
I'm dying. I didn't expect that a silly online quiz would use rules of order for one of their results. I'd be lying if I said I didn't know Robert's Rules of Order intimately though... I feel personally attacked. :-D

You like to be the best at everything you do, and that’s cool, except when it’s not. Make sure you use that competitive spirit for good and not for evil, dear reader, and you’ll go far.
ROTFL it is too true!

Awesomely, this category is actually listed in technology rumor has it because back in Dewey’s day, farm animals WERE technology? It’s one of our favorite DD idiosyncrasies just like you, dear reader, you idiosyncratic riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.
Books in your category range from Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron to All Things Wise and Wonderful by James Herriot.
I love it. Since I'm a biologist and I love animals it fits though I don't think I'm a mystery wrapped in an enigma though I do also like mystery novels.

I am definitely a perfectionist, and like to be good at what I do- so I guess this is pretty accurate.
Fun quiz!

Haha! This is me (without - yet - taking the test)! And I am a librarian!

152: Emotions & senses
We commend your emotional intelligence, dear reader! You’re empathetic and interested and engaged in the world around you. You can laugh and cry with the best of ‘em.
Books in your category range from My Very First Book of Shapes by Eric Carle to Why We Love by Helen Fisher and The Relationship Cure by John Gottman.

Haven't taken the quiz yet ... but I NEVER like the questions in these quizes.....
I'll be back with my results.

When I read this back in my youth, I taught myself the elvish runes and started writing my class notes in Elvish!

But I may have been influenced by the sounds of the surf and the clouds moving in today .....

Ha! I stared at the question a while myself Jason-I guess I thought if I stared long enough "neither" would show up!

Lol, must be the competitiveness in us.
I'm pretty addicted to these stupid quizzes. They always have stupid answers, many have stupid results, and I always find them fun anyway.

Like Rachel and others this is my result.

Looks like Critterbee is with me. That actually makes me feel better. Like one can be both smart and romantic. I admit to being a dog-earer. Shows a book is well loved and well enjoyed.

Well, I'm under qualified to work at any existing library, but it IS my dream job... so I'm completely on board here. Let's do it! ;)
I agree with everyone else though, the questions were a bit odd and often gave me less choice than I would have preferred. Ah well, we all knew we were taking a silly quiz.
Thanks for the entertainment annapi!

I am taking this quiz at my job in a library... Actually, maybe I shouldn't be taking quizzes at work.

LOL!

Hahaha!
I love working at a library! It is my dream job,

But all day of quiet and slow, and shelving and typing and checking out would make me nuts. I worried that my comment about rage would be perplexing - but have you read Eat Pray Love? That book got mixed reviews for sure. And i understand other's complaints and criticisms of it, but I just adored the book. I thought it was real New York like Spirituality, and I can explain that another time. She really felt her spirituality was found in deeply experiencing her feelings. Be it a piece of pizza or bowl or pasta, or conversation, or a soccer game, or loneliness, depression, or rage, or friendship, or love. It was real in the moment spirituality. Well in section Two, our heroine spiritual travel blogger finds herself in India, in a silent month of mediation having to say this prayer the Gurgitita, that makes her inappropriately want to fly into a rage each morning. This is the context of my fantasy. That I would just go nuts. Because I like to sing loudly in Starbucks. i am extremely social and dynamic, and I think something about the setting over time wouldn't let me fly free. Libraries are one side of me. But there is another. Eventually, in the book, they find a way to manage this social energetic quality of our heroine blogger. In my library fantasy, they just fire me for inappropriate rage or singing or table dancing. Despite my creative ideas or love of books. Precision would just make me lose my top. They would have to send me to therapy. And since that's my profession, (very un 60.4), I'd be right back where I started. I can well hide this side of myself during the hours of sessions, and there is just enough drama and dynanicism to keep me going. I visit my library during free hours and cancels, and lose myself in the community puzzle and the stacks enough to hide my crazy and feed that part of my soul. Again, very un 60.4 of me - but true. Thats what dog ears and Hermione gets me.

Ok, this made me laugh!

Once in a while I stumble upon a book that is 80 years old and just has been bound so well, and the cover is so gorgeous, that I just have to hold it for a time. Doesn't matter what the book is about. The other day it happened with a book on bridge the card game, of all things! I cannot play and do not understand the rules at all!

I would love to work in a library!! LOVE IT!! I considered getting my Master's in Library Science a few years ago.

It's kind of funny. When I was teaching and having a particularly difficult day....like the 3rd consecutive rainy day with indoor recess ... I would always fantasize about a much quieter job...librarian in an academic rare books library had serious appeal.
