My excuse to read Peter Darling. Yay!

I want to read Little Fish by Casey Plett. It also has less than 100 reviews on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, for those who like to double dip. :)

All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders was one of my favourite books this year, I highly recommend it!

I recommend the Tensorate series by J.Y. Yang (first book: The Black Tides of Heaven). I'll probably read the sequel The Red Threads of Fortune for this prompt. :)

If I Was Your Girl

Ohh I happen to have All the Birds in the Sky so that'll be my pick for this one.

Sarah Gailey's work would be great for this challenge. River of Teeth or its sequel Taste of Marrow would also count for #2: An alternate history novel. Each one is a short read, too; they were collected together in American Hippo.

Since I've already read those, I'm eyeing An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon or The Black Tides of Heaven by J.Y. Yang for this challenge.

I'm going to read George by Alex Gino for this task, to double dip with task #22, a children’s or middle grade book (not YA) that has won a diversity award since 2009.

I Wish You All the Best comes out in May and will be my pick for this category.

The Only Harmless Great Thing is really good and is also alternate history and told (partially) from the point of view of an animal, so you can tick multiple tasks off your list if you wish.

Top contenders for this prompt at the moment are An Unkindness of Ghosts and Beneath the Crust.

I highly recommend All the Birds in the Sky.

I really loved All the Birds in the Sky, so I'm going to try Charlie Jane Anders's next book, The City in the Middle of the Night, which is supposed to be released in February.

Lost Souls - trans author. Horror/Vampires/LGBT themed.

Magic Fell - non-binary author. YA-fantasy, LGBT themed.

Kheryn Callender's This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story would work here! I've heard great things about it.

I really enjoyed both Hurricane Child and River of Teeth this year.

Unfortunately, I don't think it counts for the challenge as I can't find any information stating that the author, Jeff Garvin, is either trans or nonbinary. Sounds like a good read though!

Dreadnought by April Daniels was absolutely fantastic. It’s a wonderful look at the transgender experience and also superheroes.

Anything by Juno Dawson or Jordan L. Hawk would work for this... But all going well I'm going to use my friend Ely Percy's book Vicky Romeo Plus Joolz, which is coming out soon, hopefully this year, though if not then I'll just read it outwith the challenge! They're both trans and Non Binary!

Any Doctor Who fans in this group? Well, I just discovered that one of the most recent 13th Doctor novels "The Good Doctor" was written transgender author.
Just downloaded it on my Audible and cannot wait to begin it tomorrow afternoon!

Oh! I am glad you mentioned this. Peter Darling has been on my list forever AND I already own the ebook. Also I am a huge Peter Pan fan. :)

I’ve seen A Prayer for Owen Meany on several lists for this topic. Does John Irving identify enby? I’m not seeing that anywhere and am confused (but hopeful) as to his fit in this category. Haven’t read one of his books in at least 15 years...

If nothing else appeals, I'm going to read Hav by Jan Morris. I read the first part, Last Letters From Hav, a few years ago, but I've never read the second part, Hav of the Myrmidons.

From what I gather, she's written a lot of non-fiction, but this is her only fiction.

I'm reading The Drowning Girl by Caitlin Kiernan. I think I bought it for a previous challenge, but I haven't read it yet.

Heather Brewer is transgender and goes by Zac Brewer So books by either of these author names fits this prompt, right? He has a middle-grade series about a vampire that I enjoyed back in the day, Vladimir Tod. I read it as an adult and found it fun.

I read The Black Tides of Heaven and then also read The Red Threads of Fortune since they're both short. The author is nonbianary. They were both really great. Sort of high fantasy, but with the introduction of tech.

That doesn't exactly say nonbinary though; that says possibly bi/pansexual. Nothing there says he either does or doesn't identify as strictly male so I don't think he can be counted on this prompt unless there's something more definitive about his gender identity.

Lost Souls was already mentioned (see also: Drawing Blood, Exquisite Corpse, RIYL horror, vampires, sex, etc), Brite also wrote a series of incredible foodie-lit novels set around a fictional New Orleans restaurant (Liquor, Prime, Soul Kitchen), which are equally enthralling but involve much less blood. ;)

If you're even more adventurous than that, Brite (now working as Billy Martin) has a Patreon where they've been releasing chapters of their latest endeavor, a critical lit review of Stephen King's entire catalogue.

I think the books he wrote before he transitioned would still qualify. I read the first book in the spin off series last year, First Kill and really enjoyed it.

I just read A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe which is by Alex White who identifies as non-binary. Its also a space opera so you can use it for the space category too.

is Alex White also an AOC? they don't appear to be, looking at their pic, but looks can be deceiving..... the book set in or about space is supposed to be by an AOC

No, you're right. Alex White is not an author of color. I'm also doing the popsugar challenge which also has a space challenge so I think I got confused. Still identifies as non-binary though.
