Kelli (kk00) | 326 comments Thought I'd throw out a list of books that I'm looking to read in January. I haven't double checked on where I would put them with our categories, but just browsing them I'm sure I could fit any of them somewhere on the list! If anyone wants to BR let me know!

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments Do you guys want to try for the 100 bonus points even if we're only medium? That'd require a lot of planning to avoid double categories.

Or we could try focusing on the few categories for which we're more confident for our guesses.

I think if you copy it you can change the privacy settings to whatever you want. Mine is editable right now. So I think it's as not private as possible.

So if you like it you can just copy it. There's a specific way to do it that I need to figure out.

message 33: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 3006 comments While I don't get any snow here, it is the only time it ever rains in SoCal, so I love it. Instead of the hills looking all brown and crusty, they are so green in contrast, that I can almost imagine that I am in Ireland instead.

Oh, and I love being able to wear boots!

message 34: by ~ Giulia ~ (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments Great job team! We don't have that many categories left!

Left:
2. Read a book with a coffee or tea drink on the cover
3. Read a book with a tv or book on the cover
5. Read a book that is only available as an audiobook.
6. Read a book from an author that was born in NY
7. Read a book about books (or books on cover).
11. Read a Book with a Cat(s) on the cover
15. Alcoholic beverage on the cover.
21. Read a book that a MOD gave 1 star.
28. Read a book that involves Museums (MC visits a museum, works at a museum, etc.)
30. Read a book set in Virginia
31. Read a book that has a rainbow cover
33. Read a book from the The Least Liked Books List
35. Read a book where the MC works in a coffee shop setting
37. Read a book set anywhere in New York
42. Read a book written by a Virginian author.

The 2 books I'm currently reading can work for 37. Read a book set anywhere in New York, and 2. Read a book with a coffee or tea drink on the cover. The second one could probably also count for 31. Read a book that has a rainbow cover. So that's at least 2 more categories completed :)

Vanessa Gayle âš”ï¸ Fangirl Faction (fangirlfaction) | 2928 comments Hello team. I am sorry to have been MIA for the majority of the month. I came down with a bad case of the flu and was sick for the first two weeks in January. I missed work too. It was rather awful. I have read some books this month, but only one of them fit the currently open categories. I will list the others here in case someone sees a spot that they will fit into.

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1) by Holly Black The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air, #2) by Holly Black

I can post a review for this one:
28. Read a book that involves Museums (MC visits a museum, works at a museum, etc.)
Analiese Rising by Brenda Drake

Vanessa Gayle âš”ï¸ Fangirl Faction (fangirlfaction) | 2928 comments I read this one. Does anyone think that it will work for this category:

7. Read a book about books (or books on cover).

Air Awakens (Air Awakens, #1) by Elise Kova

She is holding a book on the cover, but it is only one book and the description is plural.

You might have to use it for a category that has already been posted. Unless another book can be moved from a used category to something that is left. I can take a quick look to see what your team has already posted.

So it looks like the series for Air Awakens is finished. So, if you want you can move Giulia's book City of Bones from 43. Read a book from a series that is completed TO 37. Read a book set anywhere in New York.

Then you could add your book to #43.

message 40: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) | 79706 comments Mod
As for cruel prince and the wicked king, I would suggest reusing #40 - Read a book that is MPG Fantasy. Don't forget that there's a BR for cruel prince and wicked king is BOTM. so you'll team will get lots of points for that.

Maybe we can use it for 3. Read a book with a tv or book on the cover. The book there is singular.

Or we can do it like this :D
But I'd move Cristina's To Kill a Mockingbird to 33. Read a book from the The Least Liked Books List and move City of Bones to 1. Read a book where the MC loves to read.

Not from the available categories. =/

message 45: by Jennifer (last edited Jan 21, 2019 10:47AM) (new)

Jennifer | 3006 comments I agree with Giulia:

Move To Kill a Mockingbird to 33. Least Liked books
Move City of Bones to 1. MC loves to read
Put Air Awakens at 3. Book or TV on cover

Also, remember, we can repeat categories. So if you read something that doesn't fit in our remaining categories, just put it in the spreadsheet under the Game 2 tab. Try to pick the hardest category if you can.

I've got books coming up with alcohol on the cover and possibly coffee/tea on cover.

Does anyone like David Baldacci's books? He is a Virginian.
For Cat on Cover - the Magic Bites series has a cat on all the covers.
These are set in NY: Dirty Headlines
Stuck-Up Suit
And THIS ONE is in NY AND an MC works in a coffee shop: Blind Faith: A Billionaire Romance
Book about Books: The Little Paris Bookshop was great.

Does anyone have a rainbow cover?

message 46: by ~ Giulia ~ (last edited Jan 21, 2019 11:03AM) (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments I'm reading Il paradiso degli orchi by Daniel Pennac that can probably count for rainbow cover. If it doesn't work I can use this other cover Au Bonheur des Ogres by Daniel Pennac for tea/coffee. I'll finish it tonight.

message 47: by ~ Giulia ~ (last edited Jan 21, 2019 12:09PM) (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments Let's recap our situation.

Jennifer | 3006 comments I've also picked up a couple of quick reads that are set in Virginia, and a longer one that is by a Virginian author. I'll try to read them over the weekend while on a trip.

We are so close!
