Love The Haunting of Hill House - a true classic

I just finished

Sort of, haha. It was The Wolf Road which was okay for me, I wasn't that hung up on the way it was written.

I am really trying to get my series under control; most are half-starts and I am behind.
I recently finished The Marco Effect, which is #5 in the Dept Q series.
No horror yet, but I'm working on it. :)

A Harrowing and horrifying re-imagining of the popular children's tale.

Cool beans. I hope he keeps cranking these out. The relationship between Morck and Hardy is a crazy dynamic. I do love it though; strained as it is.

There are 7 books in the series thus far, though it's been a couple years since he's published a new one. There's also a Danish movie series based on the books. They're pretty good so far as cop-thriller movies go, but sadly, they cut out all of the wonderful humor and completely miscast Rose and Assad as normal people instead of what they should look like.

Not really impressed aside from the fact the story was told in reserved. The author seemed to have the tendency to overly remind the reader how everyone in the book had a secret which by the time the book ended, I didn't care about.

Considering all the hype and rave reviews, it just wasn't for me."
I've heard mixed reviews of this one. I have it on my bookshelf but haven't got around to it yet!

The cover is definitely the best thing about this book. The writing was bad, there were many plot holes, and characters doing things that didn't make any sense.

I listened to it on audio with a full cast and it was excellent!

Good to know! I plan on reading it at some point.
