I have been trying to remember the title of this book, and it has been driving me bonkers! I sure hope that someone knows what I'm describing. I remember that the beginning was from a scribe's point of view. A prisoner accused of treason and general bloodthirstiness, (I know that's really not a word), was just brought aboard the scribe's ship in chains. This scribe was to write this prisoner's story while they sailed to the place of execution. I think the prisoner had been a general or something, but I'm not exactly positive. Does anyone know this book's title?
