I think 2000-2012. I know that’s a huge range but I think I read it around the time Graceling came out but it was a new release at the time.
Hooray! It’s one of my favorites from my youth.
I am trying to remember this book I read when I was younger.
It was set in the time of kings and queens. I remember the protagonist was a young girl ( I believe a lady). She took care of the family’s books and their lands were unable to take on new taxes from the king. Eventually the king sent out his army to handle the situation. She is a good archer (I believe) and a good scout. She goes out to scout the army and ends up walking into a trap (like a bear trap). She is captured and they find out who she is so they take her hostage. They take her back to the “capital� to show off the hostage. She eventually is helped to escape.
I remember more but I know the instructions said to not spoil the book so if more is needed just let me know!
