I got off track and sped through the book and didn't report by chapter very well.
One of my takeaways:
Even in our worst times, when all we can see is our failures or impossible tasks laid before us, God is at work. During those upsets, while they hurt us, those moments could be creating a blessing for someone else who needs it.
We never truly know someone's circumstances unless we take the time and effort to learn, and they're willing to drop their walls and trust. You never know what motivates a person to make the choices they do unless you get to know them. While it may seem to be a lifestyle they chose, and in ways it is, but choices made in fear are many times not ideal, but made in an attempt of damage control.
I was so sad to see Angel leave Michael and create a life of her own, but seeing the result of saving other girls in her circumstances really shed light on God's bigger plan in her life. When she saved the little girl from Duke, I really wanted to see her return to Michael and adopt the girl as their own, given her inability to have children. That didn't happen, but I'm so glad through all the circumstances their was healing in the relationship between Angel and Paul, and that Angel and Michael were reunited and that even though she thought she could never have children, God blessed them with several.
This was a very emotionally difficult book, but so many blessings found in it as well. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.
I got so excited when I saw that this was the book chosen. This is probably my all time favorite book. I love how it’s based off the story of Hosea is the Bible.
I remember this book is one of the few books that made me cry tears of joy and sadness. The ending was absolutely perfect.
I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. I will have to read it again sometime because since it’s been so long I’m sure it will be like reading for the first time.
