R2R Rules! (Readers Check Here Before Requesting)

Reviewers, please post your links to the forums so we can see them. Members who do not post links to reviews will get one warning before they are banned from requesting other R2R books. If you fail to post a review a second time, you may be removed from the group.
We don't want to be mean, but we want to make sure that you honor your obligation to the authors who generously provide free review copies for you.

Email the author through here, and let them know. I'm sure they'd be understanding if you don't want to post a negative review. After you get a response, just message me with the title, and I'll mark you off the list if it was one I added.

Also, I am unable to post reviews on amazon and B&N at this time, I do reviews on goodreads, my blog, and smashwords if the author has their book listed there. Is this okay, or am I just not allowed to request books?

Hi, Rose. To answer your question about professional language - The reviews should be tastefully done and coherent. Words like "wow" are okay, but I would recommend staying clear of any text speak.
Some authors are okay with only posting a review on here or on a blog, but some authors do ask that reviews be posted on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. If that's the case, you could tell the author that you can't post on those sites and see what they say.
If there are any other specifics (time frame, review links, etc.) from an author, they will be listed on their R2R board.
If you have any other questions, just let us know! :)

Karleigh, I hope this is not my book you are referring to. But, if it is, let me know. :)

Ok, thanks for your help! :)

We have a folder set up for authors. We generally ask for a link to the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ page for the book, and about how many copies you're willing to provide. We'll then set up the threads for people to request, and then you'll contact the interested readers through email or a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ message.
We typically don't have authors willing to provide physical copies, so we'd just make sure that people aren't posting their addresses in the feed.

I see. So, how does one provide non-physical copies for people? Again, this may be common knowledge, but sadly, not for me.
(-_-)
Thanks.

Most of the authors will email a PDF, mobi, or epub version after they acquire email addresses of the interested readers.

Hello Erin,
I know the admins are juggling a lot of requests. I made my R2R for Galendor: Ye Dude From Yonder Forest a month ago, are things still in the works?

Right now we are sorting through owed reviews and the other open R2R books we have. Tika and I have been in contact, and we are working on something that will help us get things up and running as soon as possible.

Active R2R Members:
Tika and I are going through a lot of the titles to see who owes us reviews. If your review(s) are late, please consider messaging us or the author. If you have more than one late review, you are no longer allowed to request books from our R2R forum.

This topic has been frozen by the moderator. No new comments can be posted.
The R2R (Read 2 Review) program was established to help authors gain more reviews and get their book more notice.
ÓË Members are only allowed to request two books per month.
ÓË Members who request more than two books per month will be given a warning, and you will have twenty-four hours to delete the extra requests before one of the mods goes in and deletes them for you.
ÓË Members requesting books will be given one month (four weeks), unless otherwise noted, to read and post their review on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.
ÓË If a review is not posted within a month, the reviewer must contact the author and the mod who set up the post to let them know that it will be late. You can do this on the thread for the book or you can try sending the author a private message through his/her Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ account.
ÓË Members must also leave a link to their Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ review on the thread for the requested book.
ÓË If an author requests a quicker turnaround time for a review, you must abide by their allotted time to post your review. (Some books are shorter than others and authors may want it sooner.)
ÓË If a member fails to post a review at all or admits to only looking for free books, he or she will be banned from requesting books in the future. He or she may also be removed from the group.
ÓË You are not permitted to ask an author to pay you for your review. You are receiving a book in exchange for a review - not monetary payment.
It's come to our attention that a lot of people will request an R2R book, but then the author receives half or less reviews back. That isn't fair to the author and it puts a bad reputation under your name as a reviewer. Don't do that! This puts you at risk for being denied a book by an author.
When writing your R2R review, be fair but be honest. We are looking for reviewers to act responsibly and professionally while writing reviews. Please use a professional vocabulary when writing your review.
We ask that your review must be at least two paragraphs long, containing five or more sentences per paragraph. NO EXCEPTIONS.
This is a change. It used to be that reviews had to be at least four sentences, but that's barely a paragraph, and unfair to the authors who spent a long time on these books.
When you post your review, be sure to post it on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. Reviews can also be posted on other websites (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, blogs, etc.) but you must follow FTC guidelines (especially if you live in the United States) and state that you received the book for free. This must be posted at the top of your reviews.
If an author asks you to provide all of your review links, please do so. It makes finding the reviews a bit easier.
Those are all the rules. If you have any questions, please ask below!
