Please note that this book is listed on the AR Bookfinder and does not meet the criteria for use in the SRC.

My apologies...I thought it only needed to be verified in AR Bookfinder if it had Children listed as Main Page genre...I didn't realize if it's in AR Bookfinder but NOT as Main Page it still needed verification.
Also, now that I've looked at it in AR Bookfinder, would it be eligible for a 5 point book?
IL: MG - BL: 4.8 - AR Pts: 5.0
e) ONE book with the IL designation of MG or MY (in UK) with a BL of at least 5.0 OR AR Pts of at least 5.0 will be allowed for ONE 5-point task
Thank you for the clarification and explanation.

This thread was designed to help people with predictability - if they found a book with a specific genre on it, they could "lock in" that genre, in case changes in user shelving made a genre drop off the main page. I also began verifying books as "no childrens" because of the problem of clearly adult books having that genre show up on the main page - typically, a problem with parenting books and erotica, although once in a while something outside those types of books. Since those books would not be listed on AR Bookfinder, the childrens genre would rule them out for all but one task in the challenge.
This verification thread was never designed to insulate books that are clearly childrens books from being evaluated as childrens books and it will not be used in that way. This is particularly important in the case of books that are clearly childrens books but are simply too new to have been rated by enough users to have the appropriate genres show up yet.
If a book appears to be a childrens book, I will be looking at AR Bookfinder, and I will not "lock in" a "no childrens" genre for any book found there.
As Dlmrose's post in the Moderators Announcement thread stated, rules have been revised and all participants were urged to review the rules. We are no longer allowing the use of childrens books that do not even meet the minimal standards of BL5/AR7.

Thank you for explaining. I did not see that this had changed for Winter 2015 and was still referencing Fall 2014 rules.

Sorry, no - please see above post 176 and the revised opening post. This is another childrens book, with numbers that don't qualify it to be used in the SRC (IL: MG - BL: 4.4 - AR Pts: 4.0). It has very few ratings, so I am not insulating it from being evaluated as a childrens book by locking in the lack of a genre.
Thanks."

I'm so sorry, I didn't even check it at AR because I didn't see children's listed...it was a series I found in the YA section at the library lol by one of my favorite authors. And actually I wanted to use it for the fall not winter and just realized I posted in the wrong season anyway. It was my mistake Sandy but thanks for the above explanation. I think I understand it better now :)

Sorry - too much cooking? Or maybe too much wine? At any rate, it's good to go for travel.
