it doesn't matter how many people have shelved that way, as long as it hits the main page. It works.

There's a lot of information in the rules and the moderators announcements. Try this - Main Page Genres.

I haven't seen the book myself, but the only review says, "If you are ever going to use a guide book I highly recommend any of the Eyewitness series. Lot of color photos, concise descriptions, and very visual format. Face it, you just use a guide book to decide where you want to visit, but you don't want too much information since you'll get it from the primary source once you get there." Sounds like it's lots of pictures, maps, etc.
I'll look for it next time I'm in a bookstore or library, but based on the description, it's hard for me to say one way or the other.

That would be awesome, much appreciated! :) No worries if you forget/aren't able to, I have another idea for a book to use but I own that eyewitness guide and my ...pre-New Year's resolution is to knock out some of those owned books.

This book wouldn't work for the challenge in general, because it appears to be predominately pictures. See Rules of the Challenge - "'Coffee table', Art books, and other books consisting primarily of images or photographs without a substantial written component (essays, criticism, etc.) may not be claimed for points."
Also, as far as this task in particular, it requires that "travel" be listed as a main page genre. If you're not clear on what this is, please see the Moderators Announcement on this topic - Main Page Genres. This book has no genres listed on the main page.

A number of classic Greek and Roman myths and tales involve journeys. Read a book with the genre "travel" on its main page. The genre may be stand alone or embedded.
