Keri Phillips | 167 comments Finished Templar Silksby Elizabeth Chadwick. Very good historical fiction author. You can tell she does extensive research. I liked this one, but enjoy Philippa Gregory a bit more. Probably because this one is from a male perspective :P

Also finished Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw. Pleasantly surprised with this one. I like YA for easy reads, but seem to be disappointed with some of the newer stuff. I liked this one and didnt see the twist coming.

Keri Phillips | 167 comments Also finished The Brethren by John Grisham.

Imagine... A goverment agency handpicks who they want to run for president of the US, pours money into their campaign, manufacturers world events in order to manipulate voters to go for their guy... Timely, huh? Wait for it... Written in 2000.

So far I've finished

Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen and The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side

I actually really enjoyed Fairest of All. Origin stories are really interesting to me. Especially since these Disney ones deal with all of my childhood favorites!

The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side was ok. The end was the best part and I was pretty bored throughout the audiobook.

Teresa (sweettreads) | 87 comments So far I have read:

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer 4 stars

Frost Blood by Elly Blake 3 stars

Dogsong by Gary Paulsen 4 stars

Hold the Dark by William Giraldi 2 stars (this book was pretty disappointing. Going into it, the synopsis made me think it was about something completely different than it was. I wish it was what I was lead to believe it was about. It would of had a higher rating for sure.)

A Tundra Tale by Lone Alaskan Gypsy 5 stars

Sharon | 790 comments Moral Compass by Danielle Steel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I know Danielle Steel books are considered “fluffy and before I retired, they were just what I needed. This is not one of her typical fluffy books. It’s a still a bit fluffy but also a bit sad and there’s a great moral thread running through it. I liked it.

Keri Phillips | 167 comments Just finished Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan. I can see why they made this into a movie. I found myself busting out laughing while reading this one. Part of it gave me Pretty Woman vibes (the shopping parts :P). I'm going to continue with this series as I can get it from the library. Hopefully it stays just as entertaining as the first one.

Keri Phillips | 167 comments Finished Once More Unto the Breach by Meghan Holloway - Loved this. Wasn't just a war story but also about a father searching for his son and redemption

One Summer in Nashville by Mandy Baggot - Perfect for any fans of the show Nashville.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman - seriously twisted. Still don't know whether I loved it or hated it.

The Test by Sylvain Neuvel - I can see government doing this in the near future

An Everyday Hero by Laura Trentham - NOT JUST A ROMANCE!!! A story about 3 broken people who find a way to heal their wounds. I loved this one.

The Listeners by Anthony Quinn - I enjoyed the mystery in this one.
