A staple used bookstore with a fantastic used selection is closing. I would love any recommends for hard to find gems because there is a good chance this store has them and soon I'll probably lose access forever.

Few things more heartbreaking than an old, dusty used bookstore closing its doors. I feel your loss.

We've lost several in the past few years, it's sad not being able to poke through their treasures. Fortunately I've discovered some book fairs in my area but not the same as those happen only a few days each year, you can't go whenever the whim takes you.

If you miss out on something you can always try OpenLibrary, it's free to join and they've got a surprising selection of out of print (and even newer books). It's a library, so you can only borrow the books, and of course they are in electronic format (the PDF are good, but the epubs are converted scans so have typos, sometimes extremely amusing ones). But I've found things there I never would have otherwise been able to find so I'll take them even with a typo here and there :)
