Jessy (jollybookshelf) Week 4: A book published this year
January 22-28, 2015

Here we go! I hope everyone's week 3 went well. Now it's time to move on. This week's challenge is to read a book that has been published within the past year (Jan 2014 to now). Hundreds of fantastic novels are being published every week, so it shouldn't be difficult to find a great read! ^_^

How to Create a Topic:
1. Choose your book and create a topic in the appropriate folder using your book's author and title.

2. In the body of your post, comment about why you chose this book. Have you read it before? What are your expectations?

3. Feel free to use the thread as a way to update the group on your progress. Also, when you are finished reading, add a small review and your thoughts about the week's challenge.

4. Comment on everyone else's posts as well! Participation and group involvement will make this challenge so much fun!

**If you chose the same book as another group member, do not create a duplicate thread.**

Week 4 Recommendations:
Best Books of 2014 (Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Choice Awards)

Popular Books of 2014 (Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Listopia, over 200 books)

Sarah Bramble | 9 comments I understood this to be books released in 2015

Jessy (jollybookshelf) Because this is so early in the challenge we decide to extend it to 2014. Feel free to read a 2015 book for the extra challenge!! Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ is always promoting newly released books and their authors.

Abhishek | 25 comments I'm contemplating picking up Stone Mattress: Nine Tales for this week. I wonder if anyone here has read it and/or has an opinion on it.

Cait (clickcait) | 480 comments I'm not setting up a thread for it just now, but I thought I'd throw out a recommendation for The Bookshop Book by Jen Campbell. It's basically a love letter to bookshops all around the world and was published last October.

It's a lovely book about all the special and quirky bookshops on pretty much every continent. :-)

Marsha Arrowood | 8 comments I think I'll skip this week for a while. There is a book I want to read due out Feb 1 this year.

I read this and loved it. I love books about books

2 book ideas for those who want a book published in 2015:
The Secret Wisdom of the Earth
The Girl on the Train

message 9: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Cable | 10 comments I have started reading The Girl on the Train. Looks good.

message 10: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) Thanks for the book ideas Zaz, I might read The Girl on the Train week 10 (mystery).

message 11: by Karen Michele (new)

Karen Michele Burns (klibrary) I'm going with Vanessa and Her Sister by Priya Parmar which came out on dec 30, so I figured it was kind of on the fence between 2014 and 2015. It's about Virginia Woolf and her sister, Vanessa.

message 12: by SaraFair (new)

SaraFair I am starting The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, as I had already seen it in the bookstore and was intrigued by the summary. It is old enough that I could get it used through Amazon. I am so excited that each week of this challenge gets me to research books that are out of my usual genres. Trying to keep to a doable length book, so I can keep on track!

I'm reading that for a local book group a friend started...so far pretty interesting.

Jessica | 225 comments This one will be a pretty quick read (I hope). I am still pretty behind, heh. My selection is Mortal Heart but I think I will try to finish my week 2 book first.
