Week 5: A book with a number in the title
January 29 to February 4, 2015

It's week five! Feeling the pressure yet? I hope everyone is keeping up, but if you're not, that's okay. Discussions can still continue in previous weeks. But now for week five... drum roll... pick a book that has a number in the title! *Ahem* Any Fifty Shades of Gray fans out there? Here's your time to shine. ;) As always, please participate in discussion and follow the rules! Good luck!


How to Create a Topic:
1. Choose your book and create a topic in the appropriate folder using your book's author and title.

2. In the body of your post, comment about why you chose this book. Have you read it before? What are your expectations?

3. Feel free to use the thread as a way to update the group on your progress. Also, when you are finished reading, add a small review and your thoughts about the week's challenge.

4. Comment on everyone else's posts as well! Participation and group involvement will make this challenge so much fun!

I hesitated between "I Am Fifteen--and I Don't Want To Die" that I can read in French and "Twenty Boy Summer" not available in France but it seems great. Did someone read this last can give me a review? ^^ Or maybe read the first for a book written by someone under 30... I don't know too difficult to choose!

I recommend The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield if you like family intrigues and such. Oh yeah, and it's about a book writer, too.
It's one of my favorite books. I sure hope someone will try this. :)

Any complaints about using "half" as a number? For Half Blood Blues

Otherwise I'll probably go with One for the Money but I'm not as excited about that one.

For me half could be used as a number (0.5), so I'm okay with it ;)

Ana I'm actually thinking about reading The Thirteenth Tale for this week! I was waffling between it and One Fifth Avenue, but am leaning more towards Setterfield's book. :-)

Perfect, Thanks! I see another "half" book has made it in also, so I feel better about it :)

I was thinking about Four to Score at first, but in the end I picked Slaughterhouse-Five by Vonnegut and I'm really happy I did it. I'm usually not one to read WWII stories, but I'm liking this one so far. I'm really glad I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit.

I am hoping to pick up Ready Player One at some point in my catch-up for this week, but I don't have it and I haven't read it before.

OMG. I absolutely LOVED Ready Player One. And my 14 year old son ended up reading it last year and loved it too. And that was amazing, because he generally hates to read. He devoured it in one day.

I am currently reading Slaughterhouse-Five for this week. I am enjoying it so far. A year or so ago my son had to read this for school and my husband had read it in high school and really enjoyed it. I am liking it so far.

I read "Escaping Salem: The Other Witch Hunt of 1692".

I have a book titled Numbers Game, can I use it? It has the word number in it.

It's a big twist, but you can use it ;)
