We don't delete valid quotes.

Thank you.

It was investigated here:
And here is the similar quote from Eleanor (already an entry on ŷ quotes): “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Thanks!

Hi EJ
Book changed.

Thank you. I found another that needs to be deleted. It has the wrong book on it and 0 likes. like the original, it says the wrong book that it comes from. I have put it on the correct book, as it was my quote, but for some reason, this one remains even though I deleted it from my list and no one else put it there.
/quotes/1087...
P.S. Sorry I'm bugging you so much with this, but it is triggering for me. LOL

I'm sure you realise this now, but if you make a mistake it is better to come to this folder for a librarian to correct it.

Quotes on ŷ belong to all members. :)

Thanks!

#263 Sometimes when people highlight on their Kindle, some things accidentally get added as a quote. I'm deleting these.

/quotes/9319...
The quote is from John Welwood, ref:

It should read: "Blood red and pus yellow."
Thanks in advance.

I don't know how it posted, but I needed to add the book and appropriate set of tags. If you can delete it, I can start fresh. Thank you for your help! I hope I've provided this request in the right place - Cheers Virga in Death Valley

Many thanks in advance

#271 (Laura) We prefer to make corrections rather than delete a quote. If you can tell me what needs to be added I can edit it for you. I can also add the book title & add any tags. There is a maximum of ten tags per quote though.
I'm afraid there is sometimes a wait for assistance in the quotes folder, as very few librarians work with them. :)
#272 (Sara) Is this a completely wrong quote or can I edit it for you?

Thank you, Carol - the book for the quote in #271 (7/01) is Virga in Death Valley I appreciate your help adding the title, and following up on this request.

Hi Laurie - apologies for getting your name wrong.
Book title added, but you haven't mentioned which tags you would like.

I didn't want to take more of your time with tags, Carol. The title helps - thanks so much.

It would only take a minute, but as long as you are happy with the way it is now. :)

(The correct quote contains 'it's the mind seeking the memory'.

“They made but a single statement and delivered it without emotion, detached from the cruelty their words conveyed. They were ambivalent to his disintegration as a human being. What they said, the only words they uttered, were simple, unambiguous and not open to negotiation. If Kadin wanted to see his family alive again, he had to get out of the car.

This quote: /quotes/1046...
was written by Greta Gerwig for her 2019 film adaptation of Little Women, not by Louisa May Alcott in the original text. It was, however, adapted from a different book by Louisa May Alcott titled Rose in Bloom.
Here is the actual quote: /quotes/1027...
Not sure what would be the next step, maybe just deleting the first quote with a misattributed writer since I'm not sure film quotes belong on here, however I'm sure that the almost 100 people who have liked it would love to hear the real Louisa May Alcott quote in her writing and correct context!

I noticed someone attributed a quote to me that's not mine:

To the best of my knowledge it's not from that book either.
Considering the hash tags, I think it might be from some kids messing around?

#286 Hi Radka
I've deleted most of them, but two appear not to be deleted. I'll check back later.
Please note that I could only delete these quotes as they had 0 likes.

Edit: This issue came up with another authors quotes. Because this quote was correct at the time of entry it stays. You can add the newer version of your quote if you want.
#283 You have posted in the right place but I'm not sure what to do about this one, so I'm leaving for another librarian

Can you delete these two qoutes for me please?

Hi Zahra
Seeing these quotes had no likes I was able to delete them. Please allow time for them to disappear completely.

Hi Charlotte
I have added the book title, but this quote must have been added before 10 became the maximum number of tags. I had to delete 2 tags to be able to edit this quote. If you would rather have the two missing tags & have another two deleted let me know.

Thank you!
