Me too!! I think it's the black eye/bloody nose, combined with the fact that it looks a bit like Ed Norton ... at least from a distance. :P

UGH. I was going to pick this one up while I was at the library today, totally forgot! I'll try to remember next time I'm there!

BRIGID: I agree with the person looking like Ed Norton. At first glance its very much like his character in Fight Club

I am excited to try my first A. Smith book!

Today I went to the library to pick it up, but it was checked out--UGH!

This seems like its going to be a pretty good book. :)

Finally got a copy!

This book is on our state award list for 2015. Not overly fond of the cover, but will begin as soon as I finish my Roland Smith book. :)

I don't like the cover much easier but I do like the spine :)

Hey I'm also reading Yes Please. ;) Haha I feel your pain; I left one of the books I was reading at college and I've been on break for like a month so I haven't been able to read it. *headsmack*

I just picked it up today. I'm super excited to read this. I heard so many good things.

@Kara - I like it, and it's a fun read. The writing is not amazing but it's entertaining at least. :D

I hope to start the audio after Icefall!

I just realized it is Jan. 19th already so I need to get moving on this and started the audiobook this morning. Just wanted to warn others that it has cussing and may be a more mature read. That stuff doesn't bother me at all but I know some like warnings about that type of thing :)

Ah yeah I probably should've mentioned that––there's a ton of swearing. XD

I don't mind it Brigid. I am a little over an hour into the audiobook and like it a lot so far.

I'm not bothered by it either, so I sometimes forget to warn others. :P I'm glad you're liking it, though!

I actually finished Winger a few days ago, but I haven't been able to get on goodreads until today. Classes just started for me this week and I have been really busy. Anyway, Brigid I have to thank you for choosing to read this book because I think it's my new favorite book of all time. I really enjoyed it.

Yay Gabrielle!! I am really enjoying it so far and if it continues will have to go on a Andrew Smith readathon immediately! I am getting a kind of John Green smart ass kind of vibe from this and like it. I like it a lot.

@Gabrielle - Classes just started for me this week, too. Ahhh you're welcome, I'm glad you loved it so much! :D

@Heidi - I'm happy you're liking it, too. :) Andrew Smith is great, and I need to read more of his books. Yeah I kinda see the John Green comparison but I'm a much bigger fan of Smith's style ... seems more believable to me, maybe? Like in terms of the narration and dialogue and whatnot.

I agree Brigid. It flows nicely.

I was thinking of skipping this book, but it seems like a lot of people enjoyed it. Maybe I'll try it.

I just finished it and I liked it. I had some issues with it that I am sure with the audiobook wouldn't stand out so much but overall I enjoyed it. I have to say though John Green still takes first place in teenage boy p.o.v. in my opinion but I am interested in reading more of Smith. I think at the moment I have had enough ball sack references though ;)

Hahaha he does talk about balls a lot! Glad you are back to reading Jaimie! The audiobook narration is great so far.

I think is is pretty accurate to what 14 year old boys think but I am an old lady!

Yes I am sure it is how teenage boys think! I'm just not sure I want to hang out inside a teenaged boy's mind for too long a time, at least a so accurate portrayal of one

I agree. Hormonal 14-year old. Enjoying the book so far at 300 pages with all the self-deprecating humor. The repetitive "I am such a loser" really bugged me at first but getting used to it. I cracked out a laugh at the Gatorade incident. Can't wait to finish it!

It is still Jan Jenny so you are not late! I love it so far. I have about 1.5 hours of the audiobook left.

I am finished. Not sure what to think about that ending. It didn't seem to fit with the rest of the book and seemed quick to me but I still really really liked the book as a whole and will give another book by him a try soon.

I also wanted to mention that the audiobook narrator did a great job and even explained all the cartoons well. I still don't get all the "scales" he used to judge things in life but I just went with it. I will miss Ryan Dean.

I'm on page 138, and loving this read so far! I see the comparison to John Green, but so far I like this better!

Glad I was not the only one with the Green comparison in my mind.
