How do I use Tineye to determine color covers?

Navigate to the main page of the book you've chosen
Right click (control-click if using a Mac) on the picture of your book (as-is on the main book page, without enlarging)
Choose "copy image address" or just "copy"
Go to
Paste the image address in the box that says "enter image URL"
As an alternative, you may drag-and-drop your cover image onto the TinEye page. Or, you can choose "open image in a new tab" (or window) and copy the URL in the address bar and paste that into TinEye.
 Click "extract colors"
Scroll down and uncheck the boxes that say "Exclude background color from extracted colors" and "Exclude interior background color from extracted colors," if checked
Add the percentages listed beside the color that you're looking for.

EX. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

87.3% #194253 Blue
2.9% #8fbbc2 Blue
2.1% #383726 Grey
1.9% #8b8d46 Green
1.4% #646132 Brown
1.4% #b4b34a Green
1.3% #dcd63b Yellow
1.1% #fbd40a Yellow
0.4% #698159 Green
0.3% #456c5e Grey
so, this book is 90.2% blue, 2.4% grey, 3.7% green, 1.4% brown, and 2.4% yellow.

RedSycamore | 426 comments Hmmm, I followed the directions, but I must still be doing something wrong. Tineye says this cover is 87% gray?

Tineye identifies that color as gray.

I did. Apparently a lush tropical rainforest is grey...
