OneFootInHellAlready (one-foot-in-hell-already) | 10 comments What are you feelings towards adults judging the YA genre and the limitations of YA for audiences?

Lawrence Ambrose (ambrose2014) | 21 comments Hmmmm...well, isn't most YA fiction written by bona fide adults? I'd guess, judging from discussions here and elsewhere, that YA is read heavily by adults - though my impression is adults from 20 - 35. Middle-aged reading of YA is likely reduced - especially middle-aged men.

I recently had a review by a clearly older guy of my "paranormal" novel MOIRA: ABDUCTION TO AKRASIA who announced this "wasn't his thing" from the outset, and yet for some reason felt compelled to share his opinion. My guess is that fantasy, particularly YA - and even more particularly fantasy with a romantic element - is anathema to most middle-aged dudes (40+). Their thing is more SF or military SF and mainstream adult novels - I'm fairly sure of that.
