I want to say THANK YOU to BRIAN for leading this group for the last year.

I have enjoyed it and I am sure many others have also. He has done a huge job taking over from Jenn and keeping the group going.

As you know I recently volunteered to help. Actually, Brian also was a volunteer to help Jenn, but she has been missing in action for quite a while. I hope she is well and just busy with her young family.

I got a note from Brian a few days ago saying that he has to step done. He has life pressures that prevent him from leading the group.

I can very well understand this, getting this up is time consuming in the best of circumstances. Brian does not plan to leave the group but does need to step down.

Brian asked me if I would take over. I’ve been thinking about this. My first thoughts were to greatly simplify things. I would eliminate all but the monthly reads and just have a week set aside each month to discuss the monthly book. That is to say, no more chapter by chapter or section by section discussions.

That said, I have also reconsidered and think even this is more than I meant to take on. I have a lot of other irons in the fire that I need to keep up with.

SOOOO - What next.

I think the group will have to go into limbo until someone else steps up to lead.

We can always use the “what I am reading this month� section to have casual discussions about books. I have enjoyed our group. We have a nice mix of readers.

So I don’t think the group has to go silent.

But Brian has to step down. And I have decided that I cannot step up.

I hope everyone will give Brian a big thanks.

And I hope to hear peoples thoughts.

Linda and Brian, thank you both for your time and effort to keep this group going. I have a hard enough time just popping into comment in a timely manner, I can't imagine the time commitment needed to lead. I'm sorry to hear the group will be in limbo again - it has been a great inspiration to me for some wonderful reading experiences. Several of the books we've read have prompted me to do additional related reading that I've really enjoyed.

Hope everyone remains well and say in touch, perhaps we can stay in touch about what we are reading as Linda suggested!

We have been a small group but a nice one. We did read some challenging materials.

Maybe it was time for a rest as people were a little burned out.

I'm still trying to finish Don Quixote...

I 100% agree with everybody. The effort you all demonstrate is amazing and I have really enjoyed my time in the group. It just gets so hard to stay up to date on things when life gets so busy. Plus there are other things I want to read on top of what the group reads. I’m also still trying to finish Quixote. 😂

Maybe we should plan on reading one book a Quarter : )

I would be up for that. Maybe not one that is the beast that Quixote is. ;)

I finally finished Don Quixote!!

DQ was a huge undertaking, for sure. I'm glad we read it, though. I would be up for one book a quarter - I love the classics and like having the discussions and recommdations this group provides.

Now I am planning to read "Amadis of Gaul" ...
