Yes! I have the entire month of December off from school so I will definitely have time for this one! I’m hoping I can pick up a physical copy from my library in the next couple days🤞

Just picked up my copy today! Though I’ll be reading A Christmas Carol first because it’s only a 7 day loan whereas I have The Pearl for 3 weeks. I also didn’t realize I was getting an edition that has illustrations so that’ll be interesting!

I just finished reading a 6 pack of John Steinbeck stories and this one was a part of that book. It was a very sad story. I had so much hope for the main characters. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll leave it at that.

I’m a little over halfway through with this and it’s been pretty good so far. I just finished chapter 4 and (view spoiler)[ it’s so sad to see the poorer folks being taken advantage of. The way that this story exhibits class and society is remarkable and heartbreaking. Something else I find interesting is the use of music as a theme throughout the story; I love how Kino can feel the evil energies and that this manifests in the songs that he hears in his mind. (hide spoiler)] Can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you pick this up!
