I've just started reading it. I'm using it for the book everyone else has read category.

There's apparently a death metal song called 'The Pestilence' 😂

As for 'Eleanor' - have you ever wanted to visit Scotland? Could work for 30.

I have Eleanor down under prompt 11: a book about forgetting, because I've wanted to read it for a while and it was in the listopia for that prompt.

Alicia | 125 comments Does anyone think Rebecca would work for a book about forgetting. I've read it a few times and watched all the movies, and, to me, at the heart everyone is trying to/desperately want to forget about Rebecca. Is that just me? Is that really nebulous?

Caraval could work for a fresh start. It's been tagged as magical realism too.

Amy (amybraswell) | 22 comments Miriam wrote: "Don't know if this was mentioned yet, but would Caraval or Verity fit anywhere on the 2021 list?"

The main character in Verity is a writer. I know that's a lot of Goodreaders' dream profession.

Deborah | 0 comments I am currently reading The Secret Prophecy by Herbie Brennan . Since there is a secret society involved...do you think it would qualify as "a book about Dark Acadamia"? If not, does anyone have ideas for where it would fit?

a book everyone else has read

One of the prompts is a book with the same title as a song :D

It is a while since I read it put I'm pretty sure there are three generations in it.

It's quite popular so maybe a book everyone else has read or maybe you'd like to visit Greece?

The island where Circe lives sounded really wonderful to me and I would LOVE to visit there! of course I can't, but the category didn't say it had to be a real place.

Does it make you think of your favorite person? A subject you’re passionate about? Ugliest/prettiest cover? Or perhaps last year’s prompt for a subject you know nothing about?

message 274: by Alicia (last edited Feb 08, 2021 04:11PM) (new)

Alicia | 125 comments I'm reading Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers right now, but for a different challenge.

I think you could put it under an oxymoron, cadavers are dead therefore they can't have curious lives.

Also, I think it'd fall under dark academia. Not the thought we immediately have of a school setting, but it's academic and a dark topic.

The past/present/future is from AtY :-) And yes you could make an argument that it is set in the near future.

For Popsugar, it is set mostly outdoors.

You can also use it for a past PopSugar prompt, a microhistory.

message 281: by Amy (new)

Amy (amybraswell) | 22 comments raygunmachine wrote: "Any suggestions for where to put The Library at Mount Char or

The Library at Mount Char could be several:
5. A dark academia book
11. A book about forgetting
21. A genre hybrid
23. A book with something broken on the cover
27. A book about do-overs or fresh starts
28. Magical Realism

Buckle up - it's a crazy ride. :)

Maybe a dream job or a subject you are passionate about? (a lot of this book is about the start of the FBI) Or a book about forgetting (because most of this country "forgot" these events - I certainly had not heard of them!) You could really stre-e-e-e-tch the "song title" category because there's a song titled "Under the Killing Moon." And, it's been a while since I read this book, but I'm pretty sure there are people from at least three generations (maybe someone who read it more recently can confirm).
