My library is offering pick up, but also a "mystery bag" where you tell them a genre and they'll do it for you.
They also use Hoopla, Overdrive, Libby, and a zip (where some thing happens with amazon agreement and such, I don't quite know it as I haven't tried).

I have requested two grab bags, their cap, worth of books from my library, each bag is 3-5 books and I chose about 5-6 genres for them to choose from. So they'll give me some recommendations, I have a friend who works there and is friends here so he can see what I have read and can give me recommendations too.
So far I've read:

* Difficult subject matter, Slavery, and all that comes with it, but very well done.
** This book is part of the Star Trek series, so please be aware that this may contain some subject matters that one may not feel fit; there is a couple of insults that are bad to the main character, references to death/killings possibly, and some fighting (No killing, but enough to cause some blood, and there's a "bar fight", literally).
Edit:
I did my library's grab bag, they called for some ideas. So I have three books they put in, so will be their recommendation, and two I used as an example - so they'll be mine. :)

Thank God for Libby. I don't know what I would do without it. If you haven't tried it you really should.

Right?
Between physical library books (contactless curbside pick up), Libby/Overdrive, and Hoopla, I've been able to get about 95% of my books

I can't believe how much I use the site. I love Audiobooks and they have a great selection. I miss going to the library but when you do have the library site you really don't need to go!!

Now this is Christian but has something you might object, so if you do let me know?

I'm completely with you Christine- Libby has been my saving grace in this crazy Covid time. It is my favorite app by far!

I use to buy all the books I read. Running out of room I turned to Libby. Thank God for Libby. It has saved me tons of money. I also love audiobooks and you know they have an excellent selection. If any of you haven't tried it, do!!

Remember many libraries have digital check outs as well as audio books, etc., and so physical books, audio books and digital books all count for this challenge.
I am encouraging you to once again - choose one book that you specifically follow a librarian's recommendation for. It could be a "staff pick" that some libraries do, or "date with a book" that happens at Valentine's Day at my library where they cover the book and you check it out blindly or the good old fashioned, just having a conversation with a librarian and asking for a book recommendation. I know that my library had curbside pick up during quarantine and you could actually ask the librarian to choose a book for you by designating the type of books you enjoy. Please post their recommendation here on the thread- I'm so curious to see what we come up with.
