How do you manage to read several books at once? Do you have any tips? Comment below!

message 2: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (boozybook) | 9 comments I just read them lol. Like you know you have different parts in a brain, for me its like I have a different part for each book. LMAO THAT SOUNDS WRONG

message 3: by John (new)

John They have to be different enough! If I'm listening to a British historical mystery, any other mystery I might read would have to be modern, or set somewhere else. If I'm reading a nonfiction about traveling, then another nonfiction would be something like the history of milk (which is actually on my TBR).

The key is to change things up!

I do the same! I can also manage if it’s in different formats. Even if it’s a fantasy, then one on audiobook, one e-book and one physical copy.

Totally agree! the same thing happens to me.

I usually manage reading several books at a time by reading a bit of each one every day so that I don't lose track of books I'm reading! Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ is super helpful to make sure I don't go into a slump, though.

Yes, I do that too sometimes. Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ is definitely helpful!

message 9: by wanji (new)

wanji (thecurlygirlreads) | 2 comments usually i dont, but i do try by telling myself to reach a certain point in each book and then move on to the next. what also helps is reading different books in different formats, so one e-book and one physical copy. then, after reaching the half-way point of each book I'd continue reading the one that intrigues me the most. well, that's how it works out ideally but not always.

Me, too... a sort of quota, or check-off list.

message 11: by Kris (new)

Kris Eskra | 1 comments Mine is usually because I can't choose which one I want to read and am moody. So I will start a book when I feel like it, regardless of if I have finished others yet. They all get finished eventually.

I'm a mood reader too, and that does get annoying sometimes...

Laura PVV (analaurapvv) | 6 comments I usually pick up a book and then another one catches my attention and I end up with 3-5 books at a time haha so I usually decide a schedule. I'll read 3 chapters and move to the next book and so on. Maybe one catches my attention more and I'll finish that one. I'm just a messy reader.

I read in different formats too, I’m mostly dependent on audiobooks and e-books for reading!

message 26: by Nimrat (new)

Nimrat Usually if I'm reading several books at a time, they're in formats. Like right now I have The House of Hades in physical copy and Divergent in audiobook format. And I'll probably start reading Radio Silence as an ebook.

message 28: by Joyce (new)

Joyce | 17 comments This is the group for me xD
I read maybe 4-5 books at the same time! some are buddy reads...
And I always make sure I'm reading one of my arcs, an audiobook and a physical book. The physical book is one I read before going to bed. And I usually try and have a mass market paperback (like a small or thin book) in my bag for when I go to work!

I hope no one thinks I'm weird....:P

Not weird at all! I bring a book with me when I leave in the car to go skiing. Just in case :)

message 30: by Brooke (new)

Brooke W (thereadersgame) | 37 comments I've gone from 1 book at a time to 2, to 5, to 3, to 1, and now I'm back at 2-3.

I read a lot of books just by myself/for myself but I've been doing more buddy reads and I've just started doing arcs which are fun as long as I don't have too many waiting for me to read! I think 2-3 is good for me!

message 40: by ´Ü´Çë (new)

´Ü´Çë (inareaderseyes) I generally mostly read at school. It might be a problem. I recently went on a 4 hour road trip. Didn't pick up a single book. Not once. I have no idea, but I know I have to break out of that habit. Reading at school is- eh. I read because the topics some teacher talk about are aimed at certain kids- in which I am not apart of. But I read most books at school. Causing me to have at least 3 books in my bag, and two more in my hands. Why? CHOICES. I NEED BOOK CHOICES. I might end up finishing one book in one sitting, so I need ANOTHER book choice. So, pretty much backups. :) But either way, SOMEONE HELP me quit my habit of only reading books at school.

message 41: by abi (new)

abi (abimesa) | 64 comments I read anywhere. Most of the time, I read at home. Currently I am reading 8(?) books I think. Idk how I manage it, but it's cool

message 42: by Nathan (new)

Nathan (nathan-93) | 14 comments I dont have a specific way. I just pick up a book & start reading, another one catches my fancy, stop this & start that...
Repeat.

Now I have 18+ books which I have been "currently reading"...
Some I have forgotten. = )

message 43: by Amy (new)

Amy | 5 comments I read alot of Non Fiction. I pause reading a book when I want to think about what was said. Then I pick up another book and read that. Then I switch to Fiction when my brain is tired.

message 44: by Danny (new)

Danny | 9 comments I start a lot of books and finish them in 2-3 by alternating every day of two cuz my brain needs something fresh to read I can't finish a book by reading it for many many hours as I am a rather slow reader.
