Those who have finished Open Me Carefully what did you think? I thought it was a great insight and a fun change of pace from what I normally read. This is why I like the Book Clubs because it forces me to try something I likely wouldnt have picked out on my own. Can't wait to see what we read next.

Amanda (randymandy) | 467 comments Still in the middle of it. I'm always a big fan of interpersonal relationships, and sometimes her letters absolutely envelop me. I want to live as passionately and as simply as she seemed to live. Then again, the grass is always greener...

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) as much as i want to love literature from this time period, i, well, not so much! i get a little impatient with all the excess language of the time (as i call it!) & sometimes i just want the author to get to the point already!

having said that, i do envy emily dickinson's passion a bit! to be that enthusiastic about things, regardless of being in a good or a bad mood, is amazing to me! susan's writing of emily, after emily's passing, really touched me.

i was glad for the footnotes about emily's literary references! i'm not up on many of them as i was in high school & college!

a very different read for me & i was glad for the change of pace!
