Sheri | 21 comments As I broke my children's books out of boxes to prepare for my granddaughter's visit this past summer, I realized there are quite a few I have not really read. So I have decided to remedy that this year, plus make my probably once-in-a-lifetime attempt to reach Mount Olympus, as reading many shorter books is the only way I'm likely to make it. Some books will be extremely short children books, others a bit longer, and then I plan on transitioning into middle grade and some young adult. But I also plan to throw in some Rex Stout and Agatha Christie (relatively short/relatively fast reads, and I still have plenty on my TBR list).

Sheri | 21 comments I think one challenge this year is going to be keeping up with reporting. I plan to just list this year unless something particularly stands out, with an occasional one-line comment besides. The first two books are ones that I did not quite finish by 11:59 Dec. 31 (about 10% left in one and about 15% in the other), but if I understand the rules correctly I can count them for this year.
1. Walking with Bilbo Sarah Arthur
2. The Hobbit J.R.R. Tolkien A re-read; not sure how many times I have read it, but several!
3. Little Sandy Sleighfoot June Unwin From my childhood; evidently a bit rare, although my copy is not in good condition. And there is a song that can be found on YouTube
4. Dinosaurs Before Dark Mary Pope Osborne
5. The Hidden Staircase Carolyn Keene
6. THE STEADFAST TIN SOLDIER Katie Campbell Nicely illustrated, but one of the illustrations might be scary for some children, and it's a rather sad story.
7. The Knight at Dawn Mary Pope Osborne

Sheri | 21 comments 52. Girl Sleuth: Nancy Drew and the Women Who Created Her Melanie Rehak This has been on my Kindle since 2014, and since I'm reading/re-reading Nancy Drew mysteries, this seemed the time to read it!
53. The Clue in the Old Stagecoach Carolyn Keene
54. The Night Before Christmas Clement C. Moore
55. The Elves And The Shoemaker Freya Littledale
56. White Snow, Bright Snow Alvin Tresselt
57. The Relatives Came The Relatives Came Captures big family visits nicely.
58. The Clue of the Dancing Puppet Carolyn Keene Not my favorite, for some reason.
