He held back and watched him sway
His stab was mortal on this day
And leaning back in such a way
Voiced old promises “that bastard would pay!��

Removing his sword from bloodied chest
And wiping it clean, he did his best
To cordially invite his next waiting guest
But all there took him with modest jest

One kill had been enough on this day
Especially in such a brutal way
Instead, they chanted, almost prayed
“Happy Sword & Sorcery Day!��
