A true crime podcast yields new revelations about a shocking murder.

True crime podcaster Trinity Scott is chasing breakout success, and her brand-new serial may get her there. Her subject is Clayton Jay Pelley. More than two decades ago, the respected family man and guidance counselor confessed to the brutal murder of teenage student Leena Rai. But why he killed her has always been a mystery.

In a series of exclusive interviews from prison, Clayton discloses to Trinity the truth about what happened that night beneath Devil’s Bridge. It’s not what anyone in the Pacific Northwest town of Twin Falls expects. Clayton says he didn’t do it. Was he lying then? Or now?

As her listeners increase and ratings skyrocket, Trinity is missing a key player in the story: Rachel Walczak, the retired detective who exposed Pelley’s twisted urges and put him behind bars. She’s not interested in playing Clayton’s game - until Trinity digs deeper and the podcast’s reverb widens. Then Rachel begins to question everything she thinks she knows about the past.

With each of Clayton’s teasing reveals, one thing is clear: he’s not the only one in Twin Falls with a secret.

Carrie Smith | 377 comments Pages 1-42: what if Clayton did lie but IS telling the truth now?? What if one of the other detectives were the ones to actually kill Leena?

Carrie Smith | 377 comments Through page 96- I think one of the male detectives on the leads may have done it!!

I am also running behind on reading this. I'll get caught up in the next few days. Sorry :(

βššβ™† Cynthia β™†βšš | 737 comments Hi Carrie! Don't worry at all. I have had very little time for reading so I am behind. 100% I will start today :)

Carrie Smith | 377 comments Through page 158 - No worries at all!!

I thought I knew who really killed Leena but now I have no clue.

Carrie Smith | 377 comments Through page 202 - what if Clay's wife thought he was sleeping with Leena and his wife set him up. That's kinda what I am leaning towards. Because I just finished the chapter where he confessed and everything he said fits verbatim what the investigators already said. He didn't say anything new nor in his confession did he say anything that they didn't already know. One other thing, in the very first chapter Leena stumbled down the hill on her own and she crossed the bridge of her own accord prior to getting beaten and murdered!

So what if his wife did it and set him up or another jealous student like Maddy?

Carrie Smith | 377 comments Through page 266 - it's MADDY I bet.. jealous because Clay cared for Leena I bet.

Carrie Smith | 377 comments I did not realize how twisted and how involved everyone in the book would be.

Carrie Smith | 377 comments Sorry for the delay...

I had carpal tunnel surgery on the 19th and just yesterday I was finally able to type a little bit.

I did finish this book and it was a good book. I knew Maddy had to be involved somehow. I am so glad she came completely clean. Beth & Darren were extremely evil. But I also believe that the others had the opportunity to stop it at any time as well. I also feel like Rachel knew deep down all along that he daughter was somehow involved.

I did like this book. It was a good read. Not one of my favs but it was an enjoyable read.

βššβ™† Cynthia β™†βšš | 737 comments I am very sorry for the delay. I thought I would read more during my trip but I haven't. I will post my comms next :) I am not reading all of yours yet, only where I am up to!

βššβ™† Cynthia β™†βšš | 737 comments Page 80 - 26%: Not sure what to think about the case yet. I was not expecting Clay to have that personality...and I don't think I like Trinity much. Curious about the victim's father and brother! But so far no clue on who is involved.

Ohh that's a good guess! I have no clue yet...But it could be!

βššβ™† Cynthia β™†βšš | 737 comments Page 161 - 50%: The children, Clay and his wife's interviews were intense... Did the children accuse Clay so they could hide something? What is in the shed? I have no clue yet about the murder!

βššβ™† Cynthia β™†βšš | 737 comments Page 202 - 62%: So...Clay confessed....I don't know what to believe. His personality before the confession doesn't match the Now version either. Also, he started crying and then confessed, is he protecting someone? His wife?

Wow! Same...that's one of my theories. I am super intrigued by the book! I don't know what to think...

βššβ™† Cynthia β™†βšš | 737 comments Page 257 - 77%: I was not expecting the revelation about Trinity, it shocked me! There has always been something going on with Maddy, I can't know what to know what actually happened!
