ana ༺♡༻ what are y'all's thoughts on reading more than one book at a time? do you get more reading done, or does it become confusing? i have tried reading multiple books in the past but its starts to become very confusing and i leave books unfinished by doing so.

Sonia | 96 comments it's the same with me. At the end I finish reading just one return to the unfinished ones months later.

message 3: by Vsana (new)

Vsana | 16 comments I listen to a book via Audible while at work and a different one on my kindle during lunch breaks and before bed. I try to read two different genres so I don't get confused.

Victoria Yother | 175 comments reading more than one book at a time helps me to get through books i dread reading but won't quit. i use the other book as like a reward lol

Mei ☽︎ (meigothic) I'm 10000% a mood reader so as soon as a book starts to really frustrate me or if I'm just not feeling it, I usually hop around my other books until I find something that's working for me in the moment. I don't like reading just one book at a time (unless it's something I am hooked on) because my taste in what I want to read definitely varies depending on the day. 😅

I also usually try to do books that have very different plots or vibes so I don't find that I really lose track of the plot since it's like okay, am I feeling up to reading book A that has a dark romance bully plot or am I gonna pick up book B that's got a sweet and soft vibe with a friends to lover plot? Or am I in the mood for book C with some hot and fast PNR smut? So yeah, I definitely do get more books read this way. 🤣

Liza Jane (uh_lie_zuh) | 71 comments I tend to read multiple books at a time, especially if I find myself getting bored with one book in particular. Currently I am reading Bram Stoker's "Dracula", Lucy Foley's "The Guest List", and Erin Sterling's "The Ex Hex". I also tend to alternate between the physical copy/kindle version and the audiobook, depending on how much or how little time I have to actually sit down and read.

Olalla (Taylor’s Version) | 228 comments I used to read multiple book at a time , but I never finished them , now I read one at a time and I have to admit that is so much better

message 8: by bex (new)

bex | 9 comments i originally couldnt but since finishing college and not having to reserve time to dedicate for required academic reading, i have an easier time juggling the plot of many books at once. i try to make sure they’re all different in plot though and usually consume across a variety for formats.

message 9: by Bookreader3 (new)

Bookreader3 | 58 comments It can get confusing reading two books at once, but overall I would just rather dedicate time to one book and really enjoy my time reading that one book

message 10: by Reagan (new)

Reagan | 121 comments My sister loves reading mulitple books at a ime, but I have never been able to. It gets confusing and just takes me more time to finish them all than it would take me to find each one individually.

message 11: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (heats) | 78 comments I’m always reading multiple books at the same time. But I’ve found that they have to be different sub genres in order to keep storylines straight. So I typically do a fantasy book and a rom com/contemporary one at the same time. Or like this month where I’m doing dark romance and rom coms.

message 12: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 2 comments I vary depending if I'm reading on my Kindle or physical books. I prefer to read one book at a time, but as others mentioned I sometimes need a variety!

message 13: by lynn (new)

lynn (evasgf) i read two books at a time bc it depends in which mood iam in in that moment, though i tend to finish the first book the later on id finish the other one but it really depends!

message 14: by maria🤍 (new)

maria🤍 | 520 comments I read one book at a time but sometimes it happens that I start a book then find another one I want to read so I stop that one and than get back to it later. It’s a little confusing but I got used to it. I even had to reread entire books just because I couldn’t remember what happened.

message 15: by Cat (new)

Cat I think that I get more reading done

message 16: by bia (new)

bia | 28 comments I can read two books at a time, one physical and another on my phone

 Brittny's Book Talk | 1980 comments MEEEEEEEE

jjam ˃ᴗ˂.ᐟ (s6tans) | 311 comments i get overwhelmed really fast when i try to read multiple books at a time, i like to focus on a singular story more before moving to the next

message 19: by anna :) (new)

anna :) | 1 comments If I'm really invested in the book, I don't feel the need to read another book next to it. But sometimes if I get a bit tired of a story I pick up another one as well.

message 20: by Simona (new)

Simona | 27 comments I have to agree with many people saying that they can't focus on reading multiple books at a time instead I prefer to read one and be completely concentrated on one story :)

message 21: by Krisi (new)

Krisi (krisireads444) | 92 comments i can read multiple books at once. for me it's personally maximum 3 books(one physical one ebook and one abook) but due to school I'd rather read two books at once max

message 22: by Laura (new)

Laura (laurawile) | 20 comments I never used to, but I find myself doing it now! But I prefer the genres to be separate, so the stories don’t get muddled. And I’d rather have one physical book, the others ebook or audio

kimberley (thearieslibrary) (thearieslibrary) | 148 comments I’m the exact same - I’ve tried to read multiple books in the past but I always get confused with what story belongs to what book and they end up merging into one 😅 I really wish I could read multiple books at once and it wasn’t so confused because I feel like I’d fly through my tbr then 🤣

message 24: by John (new)

John Brown | 1 comments I'm almost the same) for me one book in one time it's enough, but also I like to read articles on different resources , here you can find intresting articles

✯❥︎R❣︎✰ (itsrachelthehuman) | 4 comments Usually I'll have like my main book but I like to read intense stuff so I'll have a lighter fluffy book on the side that usually lasts me 2 or 3 main books that I read as a break from my main one.

Jess (scijessreads) (jesshumann) I max out at 3. But one usually takes forever to finish. I tend to have one physical book and one ebook going at a time. It’s easier to read the ebooks on my phone/iPad while waiting in lines/etc. and the physical book gets read at home.

message 27: by Urban Legend (new)

Urban Legend | 12 comments I always read multiple at a time. It’s just in my nature. My current total is 9!

message 28: by liv (new)

liv (0liviak8) | 500 comments I think you should easily be able to read multiple books as long as they a different enough from each other so you don't get the plots confused. For example, don't read two romance books - read a romance and a mystery because the plots should be different.

message 29: by nermeen (new)

nermeen (nerms) | 109 comments i used to read multiple books at once, like 3-4 but i haven’t done that in a while. i feel like i won’t be able to get back to reading mutiple books at a time either cuz i’m such a mood reader now 😭 and if i don’t finish a book in less than a week i tend to put it off or it gets boring. i did find myself confusing the events of each book and mistaking them as an event that took place in on book rather than the other, but that was only if i was reading the same genre at once.

message 30: by Israh (new)

Israh Daniel | 32 comments I usually just alternate between the two/three books so eventually they all get finished. I read a few chapters from one book then go to the next and do the same and just keep switching it out until they get finished. It helps if you're reading different genres though. (Ex: I was reading The Housemaid (thriller, suspense) while reading Better Than The Movies (romance)

message 31: by Tabi (new)

Tabi I'm currently reading 5 books at the same time
