Elin Eriksen (vaarin) | 58 comments Dear Renee!

Could you please add an extra space between my names in the published edition of Where Love Resides?
Link:
Where Love Resides: A Pride & Prejudice variation /book/show/1...

And pair it with this old version:

Where Love Resides: A Pride and Prejudice variation /book/show/5...

Hi! Got this audiobook added. :-)

So, sadly I cannot fix this and I can't request for it to be fixed by a SuperLibrarian either, the only ones who can fix ASIN's are staff of GR. I did go in and add a new edition of the book so it should link to Amazon correctly now.

I was going to try and add the correct book information since no one can change ASIN's but the book does not exist, at least as far as I can find on the database of Amazon ASIN's and even a Google search did not turn anything up.

Liz H | 76 comments I'm hoping you can make a few changes to this listing. /book/show/7..., I've written a brief description.

The story opens as Elizabeth has lived with the Gardiners since she was 15, exiled by Mrs. Bennet. The Gardiners have higher connections than in canon, and Elizabeth moves a certain amount in the Ton. This story is on AO3.

I can use the description you typed here, if it is your story, but if it's not I can copy the summary from the site itself.

I used "Helen (Derbyshire Writer's Guild)" so it can be distinguished. If you can find a unique user name or her full name let me know and we can update it. :-)

It looks like the ASIN number got changed after it was added but Librarians can't make changes to them once they have been set so hopefully once GR gets it deleted the correct one can be added in but at least it links to the main Amazon search results page and the book is right at the top.

It's not my story. I didn't find a summary on the site, but then I don't know my way around AO3 very well.

I can't fix it but I was able to add a new version so that it will take you to the Amazon search page and the book is a few books from the top. The one book has the wrong ASIN and is in "deleted" status so I can't use the correct ASIN.

Hi Debbie! I got this book added for you. It will link to an Amazon search page because for some reason the book's ASIN is attached a book that is marked for deletion. Something weird is going on with GR because I have been seeing that error message A LOT here lately. Hopefully it will get resolved and we can start adding the ASIN's again so they link directly to the book. :-)

Liz H | 76 comments Hi Renee. The book cover shown here names Anna Lockhart as the author. But when I click the link to Amazon, it shows Portia Appleton's name on the cover. Scribd also shows Appleton. Both authors have other books on goodreads.

/book/show/5...

message 276: by Katja (last edited Jul 13, 2023 11:45PM) (new)

Katja | 439 comments On the Amazon page for the book with the Portia Appleton cover, the "follow the author" link underneath it says Anna Lockhart

and they both seem to be selling the same book called A Holiday in Brighton as well. The same cover, the same blurb, the same publication date. I didn't find the Anna Lockhart version on goodreads but it's on amazon. /book/show/5...

wosedwew | 411 comments Summer Hanford's new book shows the paperback but not the Kindle edition. Can you add the Kindle for us?
Mr. Darcy's Matchmaker: A Pride and Prejudice Variation

It will not link my rating to GR or Amazon, but I think it's because it doesn't recognize the Kindle?? or maybe more of the issue that keeps showing up.

Thanks for checking on this one.

message 278: by Katie (new)

Katie (bookmouse424) | 47 comments Hello!
I ran into a glitch with Elegant Female by Cassandra B Leigh (/book/show/1...)

My Kindle couldn't connect to it to mark my ŷ status or review.

When you try to add the book link using the option above a comment box and type Elegant Female, you get 78 pages of results but it is not on the list.

message 279: by Liz H (new)

Liz H | 76 comments Is it possible to add at'lable on fan fiction sites? It's somewhat confusing to have an Amazon link there, when it links to a search on Amazon that doesn't yield the desired book.

If you can do so, please add this link

to this book /book/show/1...

Renee Liz wrote: "Hi Renee. The book cover shown here names Anna Lockhart as the author. But when I click the link to Amazon, it shows Portia Appleton's name on the cover. Scribd also shows Appleton. Both authors ha..."

It may be that she uses both names, one she used initially and one she is using now. I can't link them and the author names have to match what shows on the books cover. Or it could be a pirating issue, I am not sure. This is something she will have to resolve with a Super Librarian on here. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

Got this book added for you! Just an FYI, the ASIN for the Kindle book is marked as in "deleted" status (yet another one) so it won't link directly to the book's page. Not sure what the deal is but it seems that every time I try to add an ASIN it gives this same error message.

message 282: by wosedwew (new)

wosedwew | 411 comments Thanks -- I hope Amazon/GR get their act together soon. This seems to happen with all newly published books.

Renee Liz wrote: "Is it possible to add at'lable on fan fiction sites? It's somewhat confusing to have an Amazon link there, when it links to a search on Amazon that doesn't yield the desired book.

So I GR will not allow for links to be added to a book's description, we can add it to the edition tab so if you click on "editions" it will bring up all editions and you can copy and paste the link. There is supposed to be a field that allows us to add a URL but I have not seen them on the Librarian side for awhile now, not sure if that is now just a feature for Super Librarians or if it has been disabled.

GR has really just gone downhill so much, sorry I can't help more!

message 284: by wosedwew (new)

wosedwew | 411 comments Liz -- as a workaround for the "missing links" you can still post the link in a review box. Those interested in reading the story always appreciate a link.

Yeah, it's really bad. I just sent a note to Sophia because I am leaving GR and will not be on here after the end of August. I will miss you guys but I just don't use it anymore except to finish moving everything over to my spreadsheet and StoryGraph.

Adele (delbert59) | 59 comments Renee,
Thanks for all the work you’ve done. I just took a quick gander at Librarian Group to see what would be involved in volunteering and it seems chaotic! It has been a godsend to have you to our selves in this group

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 600 comments My dear, by whatever name you wish to roll with, I must tell you how much you have been a blessing to our group. I cannot say enough to let you know that you are appreciated beyond measure. We shall miss your help but circumstances have made it necessary for you to pull back. We understand completely and wish you all the best in life. Thank you for serving. Thank you for putting up with us and all the changes that fell into your lap. Thank you so much. We love and appreciate you and support you in this decision. Blessings, my dear.

message 296: by Marlene (new)

Marlene | 17 comments Thank you so much for being a wonderful librarian! We are grateful, and I hope that you will be happy & content.

I'd be interested in knowing about what issues there have been with ŷ. Is it related to the new display format for books on ŷ? I've not been following conversations except within reviews, and I only read three reviews per day. Most days. Just to try to manage life a little better. If anyone can enlighten me, either here or by e-mail, I'd appreciate knowing.

message 297: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 828 comments Danielle/Renee,

Thank you so much for all your assistance and patient additions and fixes you have graciously done for us.
I know you are moving away from GR, but hope you will stay in contact with our group.

Wishing you success with all your endeavors and many hours of happy reading.

All the best,
Sam

message 298: by Renee (new)

Renee You all are so very sweet! I will still keep my GR account and status as a Librarian in the hopes they turn things around, I just won't be active on here. Having a GR is good for reviews of people I follow, like I know I can look at a review someone in this group has posted and know if it is a book I will like, no fake paid reviews here! :-)

Always feel free to send me a direct message!

message 299: by Liz H (new)

Liz H | 76 comments Renee, thank you so much for answering my earlier questions, and all you've done for the group. I actually thought you were on the GR staff at first.

Could you add the audiobook to this one? /book/show/4...

Here's a link to the audiobook.

Again, thank you!

message 300: by Liz H (new)

Liz H | 76 comments Hi Renee, I see another issue with Aleena Ashe's books. She has two books with the same title and blurb, Hearts Unaware.

One has 3 reviews and a page count of 244 pages.
/book/show/5...

The 2nd has 0 reviews 187, pages. and an extended title, Hearts Unaware: Becoming More Than Friends.
/book/show/5...

Both links go to the 2nd version on Amazon. The first one isn't on Amazon. I've no idea how to contact the author.
