Series: Inspector Lott #1
Time frame: 1st published in 1930 and seems to be from that time period. Documents cited in the police case are dated as late as 1928. Many of the police and suspects in the case are veterans of The Great War, which should show that the book falls between the two World Wars. Lastly, here's a part of a comment on the author and the book from a blog: “his knowledge of privilege and also the tough streets of London for the police - who did not spend all their time in the 1930s doffing their caps at residents�-- from:
