An enjoyable fantasy. If you like folklore, memorable characters, and fun banter mixed with somewhat dark scenes, this is the one.

PattyMacDotComma | 3245 comments Daniella Mestyanek Young has written a much-discussed story of her life in 'cults' - first a supposedly religious one, and then the US Army. The colourful cover art of Uncultured: A Memoir should be reflected in the print title as "UnCULTured". Quite a story.

Rachel (mimbza) | 647 comments Mullumbimby by Melissa Lucashenko Mullumbimby is an award-winning contemporary fiction by Indigenous Australian author Melissa Lucashenko. It features smart and sassy Jo Breen who finally achieves her dream of owning a property in her ancestral Bundjalung country only to run into problems with the neighbours, her horses, her teenage daughter, and last but not least, the handsome new bloke in town who is putting together a controversial Land Rights claim. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review

It covers Indigenous stories, Nordic mythology, selkies and fairytales as Esther tries to piece together what happened to her sister Aurora and what the seven verses tattooed on her back meant. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review
