That was very unique and interesting book. Wasn't sure I'd like it, but in the end I really did.

It was definitely an interesting read! If you're into weird, disturbing fiction with a dash of internet culture mixed in I highly recommend it.

Jim | 86 comments I see a couple of you are reading Fairy Tale -- how is it? I'm picking it up from library today or tomorrow, although I have 2 books to finish first before I get to it.

Atm, I'm halfway through a non-horror novel called The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, but I just finished King's The Outsider. I liked it for the most part. I have a lot of catching up to do this year on Steven's more recent works :)

Fairy Tale is by far my fave King novel in a long time. It's a bit long-winded in parts, but overall was great storytelling reminiscent of The Dark Tower books.

All 3 were awesome. Gone to See the River Man actually made me gag; but it was good. For those that love spatter punk/gore; this is pretty mild. TW! (view spoiler)

I love this book. The scene with them getting the box in the basement is probably the only scene that creeps me out, for real. Besides little Danny Glick.

It was excellent, if you enjoy background and details. The first third of the book is getting to know everyone before the adventure begins. So, if you need endless excitement; then this may not be it for you.

I loved it and gave it 5 stars because we could have just stayed with the first part of the story and I would have been happy.

Mount Fitz Roy

A nice BIG doorstopper of a book, it's a sequel to Earthcore which was also HUGE but interesting.

message 45: by Sean (new)

Sean | 4 comments Just finished ‘Salem’s Lot and have now moved onto another King horror classic Pet Sematary. If King hadn’t stated in his introduction that this was his scariest novel then I might have abandoned it since I’m finding it a bit slow in the early chapters.

Just got to the part where the question has been asked if any humans have been buried in the pet cemetery as well when a dead cat returns to life after being buried there. I’m guessing that this is an important clue to some future horrors.

Jeff Strand wrote a short story based on Pet Sematary and the dead cat. Just might be the best short story I've ever read. I think it's in Strand's book Dead Clown Bbq.
BTW... I think The Shining is King's scariest but I guess King is entitled to his opinion. ;) lol

Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments If It Bleeds by Stephen King

I've got 5 or 6 King books to catch up on this year. I probably should have read The Outsider first, but spoilers don't matter to me if the book is good.
