Haley (haleymadd) | 315 comments Hello Team! I'm so excited for this tower teams challenge.

Sorry for the late response, but I'm Haley from Florida and this is my 2nd tower teams :) I'll be heading over to the sheet to see what books work out and will update to here.

Here is my shelf

We watch a lot of Euro and Scandi crime series on TV and came across a good one from Luxembourg. I can speak a bit of French and German but couldn’t pick what they were speaking. It’s like French but with a strong accent etc. Occasionally they’d liaise with other law enforcement and swing into French or German which I could understand. Found it fascinating. Watching a good French Canadian thing atm called The Wall. More familiar French in that!

Yes sorry I am on vacation till late tomorrow night so I’ve just been using my phone I will create one and post the link Saturday morning (well morning to me) once I am back home and can get on my computer!!

I figured it out! I don’t think I can embed the link from my phone but hopefully this works: /review/list...

Insiyah (insiyahxo) | 501 comments So the trick to using GR on your phone is to use it on your browser, because the app is terrible. Then when I need to embed a link, I usually select desktop mode on my browser menu and use it as the desktop app. Only issue i have with the browser is that the spellcheck gets weird.

I have an orange cover with The Priory of the Orange Tree, and whatever colour A Day of Fallen Night is - primarily blue, I think?. I'll have beige as well with The Luminaries.

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 691 comments I have a yellow cover Fromage by Sally Scott

Absolutely! Especially the Pretty Little Liars books - I was through the first 4 rather quickly. And they all have very useful colour covers ;-)

Blue, yes. I had to look twice though haha. There is a lot going on on that cover. Will have to grab myself a copy some time as well but should really finish Priory..

Oh yeah I use the web browser on my phone too I gave up on the app years ago!! I’ll have to try that with embedding links next time!

I only use the app when I'm in a bookstore, and only to check if the book is a first one or somewhere in the middle of a series since not every book makes a mention of that.

Good news!

Team Zéng got allocated a day for discussion questions for one of the May BOMs, namely Kings of the Wyld, so we'll get a few extra points for this particular BOM :-)

message 166: by Haley (new)

Haley (haleymadd) | 315 comments My home library doesn't have Kings of the Wyld and I'm in line for a 6 week wait for the kindle version on libby :/

I have a bit of amazon credit so might just purchase :) it has pretty good ratings

It does, yes, and some of my GR friends have read and enjoyed it, people whose opinions I can trust since we often read similar or the same books.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6231 comments To be added to Mod Tower please -

Midnight Crossroad (Midnight, Texas, #1) by Charlaine Harris

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6231 comments Thank U. 😊

And one more for Mod Tower - Read by Jex December 2015

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

message 171: by Insiyah (new)

Insiyah (insiyahxo) | 501 comments You're going to need to tell us what you think about this book, Lisa. Erin Morgenstern's books always seem to inspire extremes - people either love them passionately or hate them with the fury of a thousand burning suns. I'm in the first - I loved how ethereal the books were.

Is the only book of hers I’ve read - read it when it was a new release - was a 5 star read for me.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6231 comments I've had it on my radar for ever.. looking forward to reading it.

message 174: by Haley (new)

Haley (haleymadd) | 315 comments I don't usually plan my books out ahead of time :)) but I have my eye on finishing some ARCs, I usually use tineye to detect the cover color, but what do you all think about this book? The Senator's Wife by Liv Constantine

grey is the majority? but wanted a second opinion

Uh, I don't see one specific colour for that one. There is a lot going on and nothing strikes me as having the majority of the cover, sorry!

But something could be done with this title for the Winners Tower or spell-out always is an option as well :-)

Yeah there's a lot going on with it, but I'll put it to use somewhere else :)

Monica (nutz4reading) Hello Everyone! I hope I am not late. It has been a busy couple of weeks. This is the first time I am logging on here at home in over a week or more. My name is Monica. I am 55 and live in Pennsylvania.

Here is my shelf: 2023-ttx

message 179: by Kaley (last edited Apr 30, 2023 03:23PM) (new)

Kaley (kaleyamo) | 1912 comments OK, aside from the back room BOM, I'll definitely be reading these two during the challenge:
Happy Place by Emily Henry A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander, #6) by Diana Gabaldon

Since they're color covers I think they'll go best for the rainbow mini, right? Otherwise I can see where else they'll fit too!

message 181: by Elisabeth (new)

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 691 comments Is this green enough to be green, do you think? I'll read it for another challenge anyway and it's been sitting by my bed for yonks.
More Than a Mistress (Mistress Trilogy #1) by Mary Balogh

message 182: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) Hi Michael!!

You guys amaze me with your organization of what you are reading. I only have 2 books that I am definitely reading in May. One is for my book club and the other is a book I won that I plan to review for the author. I’m getting a late start on it. I’ll post links tomorrow since I’m on my phone right now.

Hm, I'd have to say no since it's only the dress that is green but the rest doesn't have any green in it - the dress is very visible but it wouldn't add up to at least half the cover unfortunately. Will definitely work for one of the other towers though :-)

I have a couple of very thick Ken Follets with solid colour covers so this could be the year they finally get read hahaha

That sounds like a wonderful plan!!

I've been meaning to read Pillars of the Earth but can't seem to get round to it haha. Maybe TT this year will be that time for me, too ;-)

Then there's Monte Cristo I absolutely want to finally read. We shall see!
