In Quiet Susan Cain tells us that introverts are undervalued in our society and have much to offer in the business world where being an extrovert is seen as the ideal. Cain discusses how being an extrovert came to be seen as the ideal in the western world. She also points out that in the far east this isn't as true.

While I found this a fascinating read and found myself nodding along with her descriptions of the strengths of introverts I'm not sure she could convince our extroverted society of this. I have to admit as an introvert it was nice to hear many of the traits I have been criticized for over the years presented in a more flattering way.
