2023 Reading Rainbow Readathon - Introduction and Sign-up Thread!

Here are our teams for the 2023 Reading Rainbow Readathon!
You must check in with your team’s thread before the start of the readathon on the 9th. This is to ensure that everyone will be there to participate and move people around if teams become uneven due to missing teammates.
Though team size varies in some cases, the teams are evenly matched in terms of total books pledged per team, and previous readathon experience. Please reach out if you cannot find your name on this list or are unsure about which team you are on. Some participants have similar names and I have tried to distinguish between them.

Welcome! We have lots of first time readathoners this summer so I'm excited to introduce you all to the event. More general information can be found here and information specific to this readathon can be found here.
Basically, we all just read books that fit the prompts for the readathon and add them to our team's spreadsheet to get points. Teams will be announced on June 2nd with the link to your spreadsheet. Once teams are finalized I will let your leader know to contact you before we start reading on the 9th!

Welcome to 2023 Reading Challenge’s Summer Readathon! Back by popular demand, we will be hosting a 10-day long team readathon that we hope you will all enjoy just as much as last time! Didn’t participate in last year’s readathon? That’s totally cool! We will work to create teams with an even mix of seasoned and first-time “readathon-ers as well as folks who read at different paces.
The theme is based on a suggestion from SarahKat! Thank you so much SarahKat for the amazing idea. If you would like to suggest a readathon theme, please send it via private message to bailey or in the Readathon Wrap-Up thread that will be posted at the end of the readathon.
General Information
This 10-day readathon runs from June 9 to June 18, 2023, beginning and ending at midnight in your personal time zone. Participants will be divided fairly into teams of up to 11 based on the amount of books pledged when signing up.
There are 2 prompts for each team:
1. Read a book with a cover that matches the color of your team. Any shade of your color is acceptable.
2. Bonus Points Prompt: Read a book with your team's color in the title. (Ex. The Bluest Eye, The Color Purple). Any shade of your color is acceptable.
Please refer to this website for examples of color shades:
Incidental finds for the bonus prompt will not be accepted. Examples such as Redeeming Love, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, etc. These would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to find for teams other than red. So to keep things fair we will not include titles that are not explicitly about the color.
The teams will be announced around the 2nd of June after sign-ups conclude. Unlike last year, you may read books for bonus points as many times as you wish! However, just like last year, you may not double count points if a book contains the color both in the title and on the cover.
Here's how it works:
Sign up in this thread by answering these questions:
1. How many books do you think you'll be able to read over the 10-day event?
Note: Please only include books that are at least 100 pages long, or you have 100 pages left in at the start of the Readathon.
2. Can you commit to checking in with your team approximately every 2-3 days throughout the 10 days of the readathon?
3. Are you willing to assume the role of leader or co-leader for your team? (See below for what these roles entail.)*
4. Did you participate in either the World Mysteries readathon in 2022 or the 25k readathon in 2021?
You have until June 1st to sign up here! At that point, the mods will put the teams together and notify everyone on the 2nd of June which teams you are in. We will post your teams in the comment below, and create threads for each team to discuss, as well as a spreadsheet to track progress.
*Team Leader roles:
Making sure everything is running smoothly. Note that there is nothing in this role that other team members cannot help with.
Making sure the spreadsheet your team will be using is updated. All members will be able to update but the leader just needs to double check, making sure it's filled out correctly. This will come into play especially if there are group members who cannot for whatever reason access the spreadsheet easily.
Another leadership role is that of support person or co-leader. This role could include anything from encouraging team members, updating spreadsheet progress, and general support of the team leader. It is similar to the team leader role but you would have another person to lead with!
