2. This is according to GR policy. The number on the last page of text counts (unless it is an omnibus edition containing two or more books, each with their own page count). This is so that users won't have to calculate which page number they're on.
3. What is on pages 745-750?

The last pages have maps, and they probably shouldn’t be counted to the page count, but I’m reading fellowship of the ring now (Lord of the Rings 1) and there they are added to the page count.
