A small white plane hurtles from the sky, vanishing into the wilderness. Hiker Maggie Roby watches its final descent, certain that no one could have survived.

I don't like Ekker's POV. I wish we didn't have it. I didn't want the other bad guys' pov either. so far, I don't think they add anything

I wish we knew about the birds and whatever Luna told them in the cave

I hope Marcus, Maggie and Luna make it off this mountain. but I'm worried both Maggie and Marcus are shot/injured.

I'm really really sad that Maggie killed herself to kill Dr. Jewel. that was awful

(view spoiler)[I can't get over how freaky it makes those eyes seem! lol I feel like Maggie could've definitely taken cover and not be seen, but I was not expecting her husband to still be after her! (hide spoiler)]

Through Part 3

(view spoiler)[I agree about Ekker and what an odd name, right? I was upset and sad about the sheriff too. Not good! I was really rooting for the 3 to get off the mountain too but wasn't sure if they would or it would end in disaster. Honestly, a lot of the story had me questioning this but more in a state of confusion, like what roach was. (hide spoiler)]

Finally the End

(view spoiler)[I am in total agreement with you, but I liked it a little more I think mainly because of the "freaked me out" aspect of it. I was NOT expecting Maggie to commit suicide and was so sad that she did that. And, yeah, that dude (Roach) definitely should've died already...that's one thing that was so confusing to me as was a lot of the book but more in the way that so much didn't make a lot of sense to me. Chapter 12: (view spoiler)[Can't say I am super into this one yet, there are too many fractured elements to it right now. We have the two people who were in the plane when it crashed, then the lone woman out on the mountains who is running away from someone it seems, the old sheriff who has now found the two women together and the new sheriff investigating if a plane has actually crashed in the wilderness, I hope it all comes together soon so that I can make the sense of what is happening (hide spoiler)]

This was such a bland read.

Chapter 13-29: (view spoiler)[I don't know why but I just can't seem to get into this book completely, too much is going on and it's kinda difficult to keep track of it all. Also I do not much enjoy actual monsters in the book, just metaphors for those. The guy from the plane has turned into some kind of predator, Luna is not normal too and it does not make for an appealing storyline for me personally. I do not want to give up on this yet though (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 30-50: (view spoiler)[I do not even understand what is going on even more, what kind of creature Luna is to be able to make people bleed from their eyes and noses? there was so much bloodbath in these chapters that I am kinda feeling queasy just reading all about it. Donnie's death was so unjust, he literally died simply because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That white monster thing is scary. I am curious to see how the sheriffs, Maggie and Luna survive it all (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 51-73: (view spoiler)[I am so ready for this to end, it's being stretched unnecessarily imo, I just want to find out all the secrets already and be done with it. I am not enjoying the four people's quest for survival and Ekker and Bisek's POVs are the worst. I feel like this would have gone down so much better if only the author had not withheld literally everything important probably in order to make it more mysterious and appealing to the readers (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[I'll be honest, I did not get that ending at all, Maggie killing herself in order to kill the evil doctor did not make any sense to me. Walton died too. There was so much wreckage and destruction and I did not enjoy one bit of it. The book felt to be dragging right since the start despite the short chapters. The ending was disappointing with still not enough details being divulged about Luna's abilities and I feel cheated (hide spoiler)]
