I am a stay at home wife at the present time so I have time on my hands. I decided to participate in the read-a-thon because I like to read and to be challenged.
2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next 24 hours?
The books I have in my pile correspond with the weekly reading challenge weeks beginning with week 16 with a few extras in case I change my mind about a book listed. I tend to look at a books cover and will place them in an order of reading preference so I never really know which one I will be reading at any given minute it just depends on the mood I am in. with over 3000 books to pick from I am sure I will find something.
3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)?
My goal is to read at least 4 books. Maybe more maybe less depending on if I fall asleep.
4. Have you made any meals, prepared any snacks, or stocked up on any drinks to tide you over through the read-a-thon?
Have a case of pepsi ready and fast snacks like pizza rolls and don’t forget the chocolate.
5. Where will you be doing your reading? Do you have a special spot picked out or will you be roaming around?
I will mostly be reading at my kitchen table don’t want to get to comfortable or will get sleepy.
6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us.
I have a tweet account but not sure how to use it never tweeted in my life but am signed into the club page right now

I am both a writer and a reader and read across the genres. Save for the truly creepy stuff as it gives me nightmares usually. I just started reading non-fiction military books (memoir-type stuff, i.e. Lone Survivor, 13 Hours, No Easy Day; those kind of ones) last year and find them fascinating. A friend of mine who's former Navy got me started on them and I now have a pile of them to read. I have done some read-a-thons in the past, but not a 24-hour one. I thought I'd give it a try.
2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next 24 hours?

3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)?
Not go mad, maybe? Hopefully glean some usable info from my re-reading of the three non-fiction (smallish) books I have on my list.
4. Have you made any meals, prepared any snacks, or stocked up on any drinks to tide you over through the read-a-thon?
I have caffeine standing by. (It's vibrating on the spot, telling me it's ready to help me out.) I'll also have craisins nearby as well for snacking on.
5. Where will you be doing your reading? Do you have a special spot picked out or will you be roaming around?
Desk, mostly. But I have a Nook HD and a phone that both have the Amazon reading app on them and will be using them where I can.
6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us.
No. I don't tweet, instagram, or blog. But I do reviews here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. I'll be putting them up for what books I finish.

Well, I turned 21 years old this month, I'm from Portugal and I'm studying Law. I'm joining the Read-a-Thon because it's one of the best ideas I've ever heard! I'm also really, really behind in the challenge and I haven't spend much time reading lately so it's a great chance to try to catch up.
2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next 24 hours?
My book pile:
Madame Bovary (almost finished)
The Great Gatsby (almost finished)
Letter to His Father
The Sun Also Rises
The Master and Margarita
Death with Interruptions
I have an exam next week so I also have a law book to read (unfortunately). I might also change my mind about the books and pick different ones!
3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)?
Well, probably it isn't the best idea to start reading +4 different books, the aftermath will be awful ahahaha. That being said, the only goal I've set so far is to finish the books I started reading before the read-a-thon. I'm definitely going to sleep with my usual schedule, staying 24h awake messes me all up! And I haven't decided when to start. Right now it's past 10pm in Portugal, the challenge would start at 2am. I usually go to bed around 3/4am so I don't know if I'm going to read a bit before sleeping or start the read-a-thon tomorrow morning.
4. Have you made any meals, prepared any snacks, or stocked up on any drinks to tide you over through the read-a-thon?
Nooooo, I haven't thought about that! I will rely in sandwiches, iced tea and coffee!
5. Where will you be doing your reading? Do you have a special spot picked out or will you be roaming around?
I'm living in a house with more 10 college students so I spend most time in my room (it's more quiet) but since it's weekend and I'm almost alone I'll probably be moving around between my room, the living room and the backyard if the weather is nice during the day.
6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us.
I might instagram it! I'm @canalcaveira, feel free to follow!

2: for the next 24 hours I plan on finishing up the hobbit and getting through the first 100 or so issues of the walking dead comics followed by starting the fellowship of the ring :)
3: honestly my only goal for the readathon is to have fun and not fall asleep too early lol
4: I haven't prepared anything exactly, but I've got left over shepherds pie pie in the fridge along with water :)
5: I plan on starting off on the couch but will eventually move to the bed.
I'll be posting randomly on Instagram, you can follow me at latenight_queen :)
Yay for being excited!!!
1. Tell us a little about yourself and why you decided to participate in the Read-a-Thon.
I'm mod here and when I'm not editing topic titles, reading or annoying my cats, I go to university as I'm on a "back to school" year.
I've free time and I usually read on weekends...
2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next 24 hours?
A short story: Greener Grass
A fantasy book: The Emperor's Blades
A re-read (fantasy too): Dragon Wing
If I finish The Emperor, I'll probably read P.O.W.ER (dystopia).
3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)?
Yep, to read books I enjoy and no reading challenge ones!
4.5.6. I'll continue to cook as usual, read on the couch or in bed, depending the hour, and I won't cover the event on my social networks.

I study English philology and comparative literature, which gives me an excuse to READ ALL THE THINGS! At the moment, I have a book exam with a total of 13 titles to read for next month, and this seems like a perfect opportunity to barrel through a load of them.
2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next 24 hours?
My reading challenge book for the week, Me emme valehtele ja muita Puolueen hyväksymiä novelleja ("We Do Not Lie and Other Short Stories Approved by the Party"), and of my exam books, Tainaron: Mail from Another City by Leena Krohn, Erno Paasilinna's essay collection Yksinäisyys ja uhma: esseitä kirjallisuudesta ("Solitude and Defiance: Essays on Literature") and Marja-Liisa Vartio's novel Hänen olivat linnut ("Her Were the Birds"). None of these are particularly long works, and if I get through them all, there's Ville Vuorela's Vanha koira ("Old Hound") and if I'm still feeling up to it, a 700-page history of Finnish literature. If not, there's Understanding Tolkien And The Lord Of The Rings, a book that was recommended to me with a tale of how one of the founding members of the Finnish Tolkien Society had thrown it at the wall. I've promised to review it, too.
3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)?
Nah. I just want to read these books and this feels like a good excuse to dedicate 24 hours to flipping pages.
4. Have you made any meals, prepared any snacks, or stocked up on any drinks to tide you over through the read-a-thon?
Not really, but the larders are sufficiently stocked that I should have no need to exit the apartment and I have a box of around 200 tea bags.
5. Where will you be doing your reading? Do you have a special spot picked out or will you be roaming around?
In bed. It has been optimized for this purpose.
6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us.
May be tweeting. We shall see. Will use the hashtag. My handle is @nitessine.

For these reasons I haven't chosen books to read, if I can finish The Shadow of the Wind, I'll be happy. Also I don't have any particular goals for this day, but maybe I'll set some tomorrow morning.
I haven't prepared any food, since I already tend to eat too much while reading haha.
I'm mostly going to read from my couch and my bed. I never tried to sit at my table not to fall asleep, maybe I'm going to try this in an hour or so.
I'll probably instagram a few photos (nemone13).

My name's Corynne and I am a paraprofessional at a Massachusetts middle school. That being said, I don't think I can stay up a full 24 hours, but would love to get some long stretches of reading time in.
2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next 24 hours?
I'm currently reading The Lord God Made Them All by James Herriot. If I finish, my next book is The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor (book set in a different country).
3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)?
Finishing the book would be nice, but I don't think I will.
4. Have you made any meals, prepared any snacks, or stocked up on any drinks to tide you over through the read-a-thon?
A trip to Barnes & Noble/Starbucks might happen. Beyond that, it's whatever I have in the fridge at the moment.
5. Where will you be doing your reading? Do you have a special spot picked out or will you be roaming around?
Mostly at home with a cup of tea I hope. There will be some lapses to catch up on some movies I rented (The Fifth Element, The Theory of Everything, Gamer).
6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us.
I don't really use my twitter, but I might for this. I'm more into instagram so that might happen (cgildea10).

I ahead 3 books on my reading challenge and I want to stay ahead
1. I'm Michelle! I mod here and, if you haven't already figured it out, I love to read. I live in Ohio with my fiance and our two pups. I like video games, flip flops, and once ate a crusty old Lemonhead candy to win a bet. Yeah, truth.
2. I am going to be trying to catch up on a few books that I am behind in the challenge. I've figured out that the hardest bit of this challenge for me is reading in order - I tend to want to read what I want to read when I want to read it so I've jumped ahead some. :/ I need to finish The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender which I feel like I've been reading forever but am only half way through. I also want to get Atonement, The Good Girl, and The Fire Wish or The Golem and the Jinni in. But that would be a highly ambitious reading agenda for the next 24 hours so we will see where it all falls.
3. My goal is to try and get as much reading done as possible. Fingers crossed! I'll be stopping every hour to two hours or so to post updates for the group so check back often!
4. I just ran out and stocked up on Mountain Dew Kickstarts to help keep me awake! I also have sunflower seeds and leftovers from my dinner if I get too hungry.
5. Most of my reading will be on the couch with the pups and, if it is nice tomorrow, outside. I also have an audiobook on tap if I get too tired. I can simultaneously game/listen if I get dozy.
6. I will be live tweeting throughout the event. I'm . I have had my Twitter for years and almost never used it so I am using this as a chance to break it in. I'll be using #2015readathon! I'll be following all you Read-a-Thonners!
Also, I just started an Instagram to follow along with you Instagrammers. ! I'll be following all you Read-a-Thonners there too! <3

My sister made me some soup because I'm sick and I have bottles of water and a pepsi (is a Pepsi even a good idea?).

I'll be tweeting and instagramming and at the end I'll post a Booktube video.

I'm a wife and mother of two teenagers in the beginnings of empty-nest syndrome. I have been following the 2015 Reading Challenge in an attempt to find new interests and meet new people and to fill up my time somewhat, and I am right on track! This is my first Read-a-Thon. I have a few books on hand, but I'm just plugging right along with my list. I'm reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult until it's done, then I'll move onto something else. I'm lounging in PJ's on my comfy bed with my daughter's laptop. I made potato salad and fried chicken tenders. They are in the fridge. Chocolate ice cream awaits. Anything else I get a craving for, my hubby will go and get for me. He's a keeper. Glad to be on board!!

Hey, Joi! I'm reading Nineteen Minutes, too!!

Jenny, he's definitely a keeper! My boyfriend is snoring on the couch next to me (it's 3 am here in Switzerland), but he is snoring in a cute way so that doesn't distract my reading ;)

Hi, Corynne! I work in an elementary school. My daughter rented The Theory of Everything as well, so I'll be taking a break tomorrow some time for that. I've been looking for a good book that takes place in another country. I'm going to look yours up :)

LOVE The Shadow of the Wind!!
1. Tell us a little about yourself and why you decided to participate in the Read-a-Thon.
I'm a graduate student, working towards my master's in social work in Boston. I have to read an incredible amount for school so I've been using the challenge to keep myself sane. But I just finished midterms this week and the read-a-thon seemed like the perfect excuse to take a break from school for a day (which I do not typically do).
2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next 24 hours?
I'm finishing up Where She Went right now then I'm leaning towards starting We Were Liars.
3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)?
I can't afford to throw off my sleep schedule and I definitely have a hard enough time staying awake to read on a normal day. So I'll be happy if I read the majority of the day tomorrow, finishing the two books above and starting a third.
4. Have you made any meals, prepared any snacks, or stocked up on any drinks to tide you over through the read-a-thon?
The beauty of Boston is that I have a 7/11 about 10 feet from my stoop. So a trip may be in order tomorrow for some shameless junk food.
5. Where will you be doing your reading? Do you have a special spot picked out or will you be roaming around?
I usually alternate between the bed, couch, and recliner
6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us.
I may tweet at some point but probably not.

My husband snores - and not in a cute way. I have ear plugs on my bedside table. I use them every night!

I am an avid reader, and I participate so that I can work on my TBR pile and the books that I have to give back to the library. ;)
2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next 24 hours?
The Ice Princess by Camilla Läckberg
Assassin's Accomplice by Kate Clifford Larson
Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

I want to finish some books that I have started on or are due back to library soon.

About to make a sandwich before I begin...

6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us. possibly tweeting if I remember. I may blog when done.

Joi, I'm reading it for a discussion at work. I work in an elementary school. It has scared me at times, crushed my heart at one point, otherwise it's a good book that I'm enjoying reading.

I am taking part in the read-a-thon because for once I have a pretty quiet week (evening-wise, still working during the day) and I want to try and catch up on my 2015 reading target (I'm on 38 books atm - aspiring to the 52 by the end of the year, which may be a little out of reach at this point, but that's what read-a-thons are for ay...)

Dreams of Gods & Monsters
Major Pettigrew's Last Stand
The Foundling Boy
3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)?
I want to try and read as many books this week as possible - aiming for 1 per day, so 7 in total
4. Have you made any meals, prepared any snacks, or stocked up on any drinks to tide you over through the read-a-thon?
Big box of pepsi-max, and my husband to cook ;)
5. Where will you be doing your reading? Do you have a special spot picked out or will you be roaming around?
Lying on my sofa
6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us.
I will just update my goodreads page as I finish each book

2. I'm a slow reader so for now I only have The Age of Innocence as the main book i'll be reading and Atomic Park to read in the bus to go to work.
3. I plan to read as much as I can. I'm seeing friends this week but the rest of the time i won't be watching any movies or tv shows but read. I hope to finish some books that i have started since a long time but i don't have any goals. Just keeping my evenings dedicated to books.
4.Nothing special, i already have enough tea to survive for 10 years i think so i'm all set.
5. I'll be reading at work, in the bus and most of all on my couch.
6. No social media except goodreads for this.

2. The third Peculiar Children book, and I'll Run Until the Sun Goes Down is among many others on my nightstand. (I have over 300 books on my two 7' tall To Be Read bookcases.)
3. no. This is the holiday spirit, I'm an artist, and some of my gifts were made by me and need framing. And I do t have any if these on tape or CD.
4. nope. But that reminds me: I need to make Christmas cookies!
5. in bed when it's cold and my back hurts; in my big comfy chair, surrounded (and covered) by my three dogs and one cat (who's bigger than the dogs!)
6. reading can't be done properly with me typing out stuff on a device ; )

2. What books do you have in your "to be read" pile for the next
3. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, etc.)? I'd like to read a total of 2000 pages.
4. Have you made any meals, prepared any snacks, or stocked up on any drinks to tide you over through the read-a-thon? I did just make a batch of absolutely divine salted caramel fudge, so I'll be indulging in some of that! Otherwise, since it's a whole week and I have a six year old daughter, it will be business as usual in the food department, and I'll be drinking a lot of tea.
5. Where will you be doing your reading? Do you have a special spot picked out or will you be roaming around? Anywhere & everywhere. I would really, really love a huge, comfy, squishy reading chair. I think that next time I move, I'll definitely set aside a little nook for reading. And built a little book fort around it.
6. Will you be tweeting, instagramming, or blogging through the event? If so, share your links with us. Maybe! I do have an Instagram account - .

Because why would I not give myself an excuse to spend more time reading?
