I personally have been reading through Berserk by Kentaro Miura since July, and it’s consumed all my reading time hahaha.

I finished Still Just a Geek: An Annotated Memoir and The Hidden Oracle and started The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England.

Compelling story but a bit derivative. 3 stars

Fairy Tale by Stephen King. I’m about halfway through it and it’s been enjoyable.

I read Here and Now and Then a while back. It reminded me a bit of Crouch's Dark Matter -- very family-focused. I've only read the first St. Mary's. It was fine, but I haven't been motivated to continue. Do they get better?

I was just hospitalized for 4 days for hip surgery, I didn't want to carry with me the big heavy book i was currently reading (The Big Book of Cyberpunk), so I loaded on my tablet Foreigner by C.J. Cherryh, and read it entirely during my stay at the hospital. I'll read the next book in the series later. I now return to the cyberpunk opus.

I finished reading The Dark Half by Stephen King. And the Crossroads of Twilight by Robert Jordan (Book #10 of the Wheel of Time). It’s been called the sloggiest of the novels of the series. It felt slow, but the writing was great. And Starter Villain by John Scalzi. A fun adventure from the point of view of a Bond-like villain. And the The Sunlit Man by Brandon Sanderson. It is the fourth novel of four in his secret novel series. Probably the best of the series with lots of action and plenty of Cosmere goodness. I am reading Assassin's Apprentice (Book #1 of the Farseer Trilogy) by Robin Hobb. I plan to read System Collapse (Murderbot Diaries #7) by Martha Wells next.

I really enjoyed Assassin's Apprentice. I've probably read the first two trilogies 10 times.

Thanks Michelle and Robin for your kind wishes. The surgery went well, now I just have to be patient, live with crutches until the end of December, and generally stay quiet - which should enable me to do a lot of reading!

I finished Witch Wraith. Maybe this revisiting of existing ground and events would feel more interesting if I read them as they were published, you know after 10 years going back and reminding yourself of the previous books, but when read within a single year this one lacked a bit of originality :) Its like combining two other trilogies but tossing in air ships so people can move around faster so only need one trilogy worth of pages.
