I like your lists so far, Angie! I am glad to see Lillian Jackson Braun's "The Cat Who..." books on your Series Challenge! I love that series! I listened to George Guidall read all of them (on cassette!!). To this day I can't listen to him read a book without thinking that there is going to be a cat somewhere in the book! haha!

Thank you everyone! Kathleen, I'm glad to hear good things about those books. I've read one by Patti Smith, but I have never read Isherwood. I do know that the movie Cabaret (which I love) was apparently based on part of Goodbye Berlin. So I'm looking forward to that!

Terris, George Guidall could read me the phone book, and I would love it. I didn't realize he read The Cat Who series. Now I want to check out the audiobooks!

Wobbley, if you like cozy-type mysteries, you should definitely check out The Cat Who series.

Good luck with your challenge, Angie! I hope you enjoy the Verne and John le Carré. I'm thrilled to know you, too, are a fan of Guidall. I really enjoy his narration and try to listen to as many as I can. I loved him in Don Quixote ( Grossman translation) and The Rabbi Small series.

Thanks! I haven't heard of the Rabbi Small series. I'll have to check that out, especially if Guidall narrates it.

I just found a version of The Hunchback of Notre-Dame narrated by Guidall. I was planning to do a print version, but Guidall reading that just sounds lovely.

I love your Old and New too Angie. Too bad Bob started The Winds of War, I was hoping we could get it as a long read. It's been on my list for awhile too. I own it on Kindle .
